This is the car that started it all for me.
When I was about 9 or 10yrs old, I came across 'She's Ace' parked out in front of the taperoo service station.
It was always parked out the front as a lure to buy petrol there.
I had never really took notice of cars untill that day.
To me, back then, this just was the coolest thing on wheels.

This was after a car show in Bendgio Vic. in the 60s, as you do, find an old (dirt) runway and go racing. I thought you'd like is.

    567trishop,
do you have the original negs/trannies of the photos of the Soapy Sales car in your last post? I own the car now and although I think that I have just about every photo of it that was printed in the 1970 Aussie magazines as well as several copies of Hot Rod when it was on the cover as Mr Lucky I am always looking for anything else out there.
Likewise if anyone here in the US has photos taken when Davey Uyehara drove it in early 1971 I would like to see them.

Hi rooman, this pictures are taken by my dad when the car was in Australia and Steve Carbone was driving the car. Dad was the race director at Calder Park, late 60s early 70s, he wrote for aussie mags. Australian Hot Rod, Rodding Review, Rodsports and Custom Rodder. He still has slides to most of his pictures and there are features of Soapy Sales in his magazine collection. This ad for the car coming to Australia was in july 1970
