Features Falcons done right?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by guiseart, Nov 20, 2005.

  1. welcome Jeff, as you can see, Falcons are very popular.

300racr, Another 10 sec straight six! People will read that and not realize the mass amount of cars on this site only dream of being in that bracket. Congratulations.

  2. While we are talking Gasser Falcons I am looking for pics of a C/Gas Falcon that went by the name of "Buccaneer". I ran in NE Ohio (Thompson, "42", etc Late 60's early 70's. Owner was Bill Vitez. They have no pics and would really like to find some if there are any out there.

While this really doesn't qualify as a "Falcon done right" it was a nice stock ride that got our son through high school and deep into his 3rd year of college, which is where he was going last Thursday when he got tagged.
He bought and we rebuilt a nice little 200 for it and it was a great driver. He bought his first Isky cam and a set of headers for it too. Not quite sure what were going to do now, bent things up pretty well, ripped the rearend loose, broke the clutch linkage and a few other things. Engine still runs and sounds good, not sure about the trans though as we can't drive the poor ol bastard. I've found another '62 ranchero w/o an engine and trans that also needs almost everything that's still good with our sons car...if I can just convince the owner to sell.

    Two steps forward, three back.

Just found this thread so I might as well add a picture of our Falcon. When I found it it had 29,000 miles on it (35,000 now) and I added a 302/C4/9" along with Granada spindles and disc brakes and the '65 steering linkage. Still has the original paint and interor, just needs new carpet. It's not a show or race car, just a fun Falcon to drive.

Anyone know where I can get a good pair of after market spring perches ? If I was to use the originals I would need new bushings and then would need to find someone to press them in for me.

Very nice. My first car was a '62 Comet sedan, that I customized. Unfortunately, back in '78, that sort of car was not considered cool at all, and I sold it for a musclecar. But, I've always had a soft spot for the '62-63 Comets, and now have a pair of '63s, one which will be HAMB'able, and one which will not be.

Well since flaked62merc posted his comet and it was well recieved, I guess I'll sneek in a couple pics of the two I've owned. Still have the red one, sold the black one a couple years ago. If anybody knows who owns it I'd appreciate an update on it's condition. Black car had a 200/4spd and the red one is a 289/t-5.

No worse than with V-8 coils and wasted six cylinder shocks, even without the swaybar and with 5.60's on the front.

What did you have to do to your lower control arms to get the nose that low? Spacer under the balljoint? The black car I posted had about 3/4's of an inch of compression before they hit the frame, and yours looks a lot lower.
