Road Rocket Rumble ~ June 19,20,21

For those of you who havent attended the Road Rocket Rumble you must make a point to come out and enjoy the fun! Its the longest running Rockabilly weekender/car show in the U.S. and is put on by the Road Rockets of Indianapolis.

Just curious, what are you guys paying for gas out there?

 

I paid $3.85 per gallon for regular yesterday

I spent $260.00 in fuel to drive from Detroit to Knoxville, TN and back last weekend. I have 6 out of town events planned between how and the RRR. At this point I do believe I will have to give up one event in June and one event in July that I was planning on attending. This fuel thing really ****s and has never really effected me till this year.

 

I plan on attending for the first time this year. I looked at the site and it says the Clarion is sold out. Is the Best Western suggested the nearest hotel?

 

Yes, and its only minutes away.

 

There is also a Red Roof Inn right around the corner as well.

 

If I am not mistaken there is a Red Roof, Motel 6, and Dollar Inn right off of Crawfordsville Rd. Is this the general area???

 

I think it use to be a Super8 but changed, and the Dollar Inn looks scary, like a ****** hangout.

Yes, some of thos hotels are getting pretty iffy. There is a nice Holiday Inn express in Brownsburg right off of the interstate that is only minutes away straight down I-74. There are a couple nice hotels (sleep Inn) at I-465, and Rockville Rd, also minutes away. Honestly, I would drive a few minutes further away rather than stay at the "****** Hangouts" as Denise refers to them.

 

James Intveld alone is worth the ticket price in my opinion..

HOLY SMOKES! I didn't realize you were going. No matter what the price of fuel by then, I'll be there. Can't wait to show you the new interior and have a ****tail with you....won't have to worry about driving anywhere.

Now I've just got to convince Megan she wants to attend this and not some local gig in Ohio.

 

I can't imagine it beating out Speed Week or HAMB Drags but I get the picture and I'm attending no matter what.

I've never been to this, but I hang with Tom & Naomi of the Road Rockets at Viva every year (Yancey & Britney this year)and they are lots of fun. Have to figure an event they throw will be good. Scott Hovet, another Lonely Knight is coming with me, we are flying in on Wednesday-home Sunday morning.

And, if you have never hung out with Axle & Hudson Joe of the Shifters.....well,.....better wear a sports bra, it's gonna be a bumpy ride ! Those guys are too much fun.
