    Evening all:

I haven't seen one made for this weekend and I was feeling proud of what I've done so why not? What did you get done on your car(s) this weekend? What did you MEAN to get done on your car(s) this weekend?

I guess I finished stripping out the interior, uncovered some original carpet, removed some of the gl***, boxed my shocks to be rebuilt, and tried to find a chrome shop.

Anybody ever heard of this place?

My wife's birthday was Sat. We did a Poker Run for burned kids in Dallas... Very cool thing to do on with a motorcycle... A big bunch of Dallas area fire fighters rased $30k for burned children to go to a special summer camp.

Sunday... we did mothers day stuff for the wife....

Pay it forward.... Next weekend is mine....

I made a adapter to make my floor jack a trans jack, and I welded on a Flowmaster exhaust on my neighbor's OT Camaro.

Well, I managed to spill a couple gallons of gasoline all over my garage floor, then I fitted the fibergl*** hood and measured out where the pins will need to go (after I had DIRTYT dis***emble the funky hood springs...which resulted in one of them attacking ME at a high velocity!), followed by a little wiring work that left me realizing just how much MORE of that I will need to do soon, then I tried to loosen the lugs and I think the previous owner welded them on or some **** because all I managed to do was to loosen some rust inside the drums that now s****es when I push the heap in and out of the garage, then I tried to get the front seats out only to discover that they're unremoveable...and after that I went for something simple...like installing the new coil and checking to see what all is outta whack in the front suspension and steering!

So, all in all...I ended up getting an Accel coil bolted into place and the new hood set onto it!

(This damn wreck is gonna take a whole lot longer to get done than I had first imagined...story of my life! Ha Ha!)

I tore the 32 Roadster ch***is apart last week and changed some things on the rear suspension, I am going to get the car farther along and sell it soon, I had decided to keep the front suspension I had on it for another car ( dropped and drilled 32 heavy with matching split bones) and replace it with a Model A MorDrop and hairpins that I bought out of the cl***ified section here on the HAMB :D.

On Saturday I made new upper shock mounts for the rear and tacked them in, cut the old split wishbone mounts off (never liked them when I made them to start with) made new hairpin frame mounts, squared the front end up and aligned the new brackets, tacked them in, and had a tape measure rodeo, when I was sure they were dead on I welded them up, then got talked into welding up a part for the neighbor lawn tractor,.... seen it was after 7:00 p.m. and went home.

Sunday was Church, than supper at the In-Laws,... (Baked Ham and German potato salad) then Church again,..... then the HAMB.

here are a couple ****py cell phone shots from Saturday morning.

Changed out my ignition condenser (almost stumped the Napa guy), loomed my new ignition wires, reset my carb linkage to tandem, discovered my gas gauge isn't working and started to track that down, and shot a coat of color on my front fenders. Also hit a swap meet on Saturday and p***ed up a '50 flathead for $100:eek:, I couldn't fit it in the trunk of the car and my 7 year old couldn't carry her end high enough:D.

I spent part of the weekend removing my old leafs from the rear of my Plymouth frame, setting up the "new" leafs (36 Chevy) and researched bushings, etc. Spent the majority of the time hanging with the wife and kids.

I installed two new Edelbrock 500 CFM carbs in the Plymouth to replace the 600's. Just in time for the new gas prices.

I put the pcv on the bucket, noticed the front tire had a slow leak. I took that off took it apart patched the tube, but decided to try a screw in valve stim instead to go tubeless. I also adjusted the brakes all around while I had the floor jack there, then just as I finished it started to rain.

    from nowhere...

I tore down the absolute NASTIEST 429 Caddy I ever saw, made a huge mess, and started cleaning it.
Also finished installing a shifter, and brake hose/wheel cylinder on a friends '63 Fairlane.
The car has a late 302 in it, and the P.O. had used the old, three bolt balancer, and a standard water pump, and mystery alternator brackets.
The goal was to use the proper balancer for the later motor, but retain the v-belt, AND spend no$$$.
Big h***le, with no machine shop capabilities, but its done.
Invented a cost-free solution: Cut and old fan spacer up, to move the water pump pulley forward approx. 3/8", made a bunch of spacers out of leftover Moroso water pump drive kit for the alt., found a belt that fit in a box of acc/belt stuff, and put it all back together, and re-drilled the crank pulley for the 4 bolt balancer.
    Cost not a dime.
Took a while to get acceptable tolerances, though...
