Glue razor blades to your gas cap and just dont forget .You can adjust the amount of damage you want to cause bye how much of the blade you let hang out
Well no wonder, if gas gets any more expensive, stealing it's going to be a felony just by the dollar amount involved.
NC as well... I believe the law reads that you can use deadly force to protect your property if they are committing a felony or you fear for your safety...
My vote is for people to just replace there gas tank with a dummy tank and fill it with a piss and antifreeze mixture.
If you don't want to get out of your car, how do you get gas into your tank? Theives will find a way around anything designed to keep them away. Prime example, make it hard to siphon and they poke a hole in your tank. It always amazes me how some of these guys will work harder to find a dishonest way, than they would ever have to work if they were honest. Best bet, keep your car in a well lit area, in plain sight of everyone. Most theives are like ****roaches and ****ter when the lights come on.
to me this is the job of a stupid thief. gas is a pain in the *** to steal. 10 gallons takes quite a bit of time to siphen, is heavy to haul away, and is only worth 40 bucks. while a s*** bag, a thief is better to focus on something more efficient to steal. -scott noteboom
Back in the sixties a neighbor hadgas stolen out of his Mustang two times - so he tool to leaving a one gallon gas can in the driveway, like he forgot it , lawn mower fuel. Except it was spiked with a cup of sugar........and sure enough somebody swiped it. Imagine how happy they were........
Unfortunately, a lot of these measures taken to prevent the theft will just lead to more damage to your car. It would **** to get $60 worth of gas stolen, but it would **** more to have the filler neck damaged from someone prying off a locking cap, or worse yet, a $250 gas tank to replace because of a big hole in it. Of course, I park my car in my garage AND have the slight benefit of having the filler neck behind my license plate on the '57 Fairlane. Seems the younger crowd hasn't run across too many of those! Although, I have to admit that I like the razor blade idea. A nice deep cut might send someone on their way. Then again, I would probably forget that I put them there and cut myself..... Bottom line - criminals **** balls!
Someone was stealing gas from my friends cube van he uses for work. Before he parked it and started using it as a storage shed, ran main gas tank empty and hooked the fuel line to a boat gas tank inside. I helped him put about 5 gallons of nice fresh gas into the old tank they were stealing from, and a gallon of clorox bleach. Two days later his truck was emptied again, and the day after than his neighbor with the brand new ford expedition needed a new engine.
Clorox is the one you want to use on somebody. Did anybody see myth busters when they did that? Its an oxidant. Anyway it set overnight and looked like a tank full of water or crud from a junk yard. The sugar test ran and didnt seem to do anything. I like the tank in the trunk idea. You cant just say dont do this or they will punch your tank. I have a neighbor who wont lock his cars. He didnt want to replace a busted window. He replaced over $100 worth of power tools behind his seat he had in his truck though. I told him you would hear them bust a window they dont want that. Everybody else locked their doors on the street he was the only one who had something ripped off. They might see a locking cap and move on to an easier target.
Keep in mind these are the same stupid mother ****ers that will work for 6 hours to steal $10 worth of copper.....
Dam'n thieves make me so angry... here's a pic of my roadster right after they stole the engine... I'm glad to still be driving my 3 window Coupe though... Gotta wonder how long until gas prices will make this look like an "attractive alternative"
when it comes right down to it, the ****in pirates at the big oil companies are as bad if not worse than the small time s***bags!! i mean c'mon!! it's not like theres been some big technological advance to make fuel more expensive.... the **** comes outta the ground just like it has for 100 years!! even better, our own government seems complicit in the "big grab" thats going on right now. we're bein ****ed by everybody. only difference is some of these thieves wear business suits, work in ivory towers and don't just hit a couple people a week, they steal from all of us! every gawddamn day!! next time ya catch some small time hood stealin fuel, loadhim up and haul his *** to the office of the nearest oil company...... then BEAT AN OIL EXECUTIVE TO DEATH WITH THE COMMON STREET THIEF !!!!! and leave their dead ***es by the road as a warning to the next group of profiteers who see a way into our wallets....
****, that ****s Lee. I'm so glad I shaved my fuel door and moved the inlet into the trunk. I would imagine a cheap alarm with a motion sensor near the fuel door would scare 'em away. Thiefs going after gas probably aren't the sharpest tools in the shed...
I've got a Yorkie that hears everything. He barks and wakes up my Rottie that barks and wakes me up .. I turn the Rottie loose while I get my shotgun .. Hell a tank of gas is a hundred bucks and that cons***utes a felony and it's buckshot time .. whoo hoooo ..
And there ain't one of these ***holes runnin' for president willin' to punch some holes in the ground or in the sea floor to get anymore gas .. not a damned one .. nada .. NONE !!!
see!..im not the only one that could get a thread locked ive been a good boy the past few days..thats all i got to say.. oh and BTW i agree!
Those *******s got me at the last L.A. Roadsters fathers day show for 1/2 a tank in my '01 silverado.
That's the 2nd biggest problem we face. We've waited so long to start developing the gulf that we're at least a decade away from having the infrastructure in place to actually pump the ****** oil. Every shipyard I know of is booked up until at least 2012. We know where the oil is, we know how to get it... we just won't. Of course, the treehuggers are still up in arms about this too. The other problem is the lack of refining capacity. We haven't built a new refinery since the 70's. Almost every refinery is running at 98% efficiency and just cannot keep up with the demand. Again, the treehuggers don't want us to hurt the environment (so we're dragging our economy into the toilet).
