54ale, Welcome and nice project. How difficult was it to put the 351 into the Chevy subframe? I've got a 302 that I can use for mine but I'm in the same boat with a Monte Carlo sub in my car.

Here's my 54, it's had a lot of body work done, and a 2" chop which I cant take credit for except for some paint and bags, and it's running a 390 from a 67 cougar.

Here's my '53, has '56 side trim and a Desoto grille, chopped 4" and runs a 348/4 speed. Looked good 10 years ago but really needs to be redone now.

i've got a '54 mainline 4-door which currently has the 223" inliner, shaved door handles, shaved hood ornaments, and a 3 inch drop. its painted in black primer with red steelies (i know, its corny but the previous owner did that). Right now I;m building a 302 ford engine for it and installing it along with a t-5 trans. in a few weeks. I'll try and post some pics but I still havent quite figure out how yet....

I JUST CAME ACROSS THIS POST AND I HAVE JUST AQUIRED A 54 2 DOOR WAGON THAT WAS ORIGINALY BUILT IN SOCAL THAT HAPPENS TO HAVE A 390,4 GEAR AND A 9 INCH. THE REAR FENDER WELLS HAVE BEEN RADIUSED. IT DOES APPEAR THAT AT ONE POINT IN ITS LIFE IT WAS BROWN. NOW IT LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE PAINTED IT WITH A BROOM. SOON IT SHALL BE A GASSER VERY SOON

Picked up this 54 Mainline a few weeks ago about 5 miles from my house. Came with 2 Y blocks and a auto tranny. Paid $200.00 for everything. It had a bunch of extra parts inside. Sold an extra grill for $150.00, hubcaps for $25.00, misc small chrome parts for $20.00. So I have $5.00 in the car and engines. They said it was running and driving and they started to take it apart to do a restoration.

I'll sell it but it ain't gonna be cheap. It'd probably take $1500 for me to part with it, all the stuff is there.

I'm really planning on just keeping it and waiting for the right 54 Ford or Merc 2dht to come along to weld it on to.
