this is my 54 ford mainline from Argentina, it's have a chevy nova front clip, 351w with C6. Their cars are great. Congratulations to you
54ale, Welcome and nice project. How difficult was it to put the 351 into the Chevy subframe? I've got a 302 that I can use for mine but I'm in the same boat with a Monte Carlo sub in my car.
Here's my 54, it's had a lot of body work done, and a 2" chop which I cant take credit for except for some paint and bags, and it's running a 390 from a 67 cougar.
Here's my '53, has '56 side trim and a Desoto grille, chopped 4" and runs a 348/4 speed. Looked good 10 years ago but really needs to be redone now.
i've got a '54 mainline 4-door which currently has the 223" inliner, shaved door handles, shaved hood ornaments, and a 3 inch drop. its painted in black primer with red steelies (i know, its corny but the previous owner did that). Right now I;m building a 302 ford engine for it and installing it along with a t-5 trans. in a few weeks. I'll try and post some pics but I still havent quite figure out how yet....
I JUST CAME ACROSS THIS POST AND I HAVE JUST AQUIRED A 54 2 DOOR WAGON THAT WAS ORIGINALY BUILT IN SOCAL THAT HAPPENS TO HAVE A 390,4 GEAR AND A 9 INCH. THE REAR FENDER WELLS HAVE BEEN RADIUSED. IT DOES APPEAR THAT AT ONE POINT IN ITS LIFE IT WAS BROWN. NOW IT LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE PAINTED IT WITH A BROOM. SOON IT SHALL BE A GASSER VERY SOON
Picked up this 54 Mainline a few weeks ago about 5 miles from my house. Came with 2 Y blocks and a auto tranny. Paid $200.00 for everything. It had a bunch of extra parts inside. Sold an extra grill for $150.00, hubcaps for $25.00, misc small chrome parts for $20.00. So I have $5.00 in the car and engines. They said it was running and driving and they started to take it apart to do a restoration.
Heres mine i picked up a month or so ago. Gotta start a build thread for it, but i've been busy tryin to get it ready for prom
Better be thinkin' about a new South of the Border blanket for that back seat ,,,,,If you plan to do any wrestling after the prom! HRP
Hey HRP, easy does it, I'm not ready to be a grandfather!! LOL I may have been concevied in the back of a 54, doesn't mean history has to repeat itself.
as the name states i have a 53 victoria in the works . i'm running a Pontiac 400 w/ turbo 400 trans have a tri power setup for it . its lowered nosed decked hood corners rounded frenched olds taillamps running narrowed 50 cad bumpers and either 55 pontiac or 53 buick side trim i have both and i will try to get some pics up soon .
I'll sell it but it ain't gonna be cheap. It'd probably take $1500 for me to part with it, all the stuff is there. I'm really planning on just keeping it and waiting for the right 54 Ford or Merc 2dht to come along to weld it on to.
cant blame ya... i know you got all the pieces, and yea, it deserves a hardtop car to live on. not bad man, i dig how ya did the sail panels too. nice work
thanks I have been doubtful about it ....just now I wish I could have done a few things different I should be ready for paint soon too. Longs hours on this 54
Long hours today for this 52. Almost ready for paint, and my new chrome is out of line! P.S. Old pic of my flatty. Much cleaner now.
Anybody have to replace inner rockers on theirs? Mine are bad and need to be done one day. Right now the car sits nice and low and you cant tell.
i had to start from scratch with the floor of mine... from outer rocker to outer rocker, toe boards to rear seat riser
