I am considering putting together a no trailer queen car meet and greet. I was wondering if anyone here has done this and what are some things I should keep in mind while putting one together.

Liability insurance. Permit to have show. Goody bag. A registration process that does not have cars overheating and lined up out to the highway.
i dont think youll have to have insurance for a meet and greet but you will have to have a permit. when you go pull it they will tell you if you need the insurance or not. all the shows that my club has put on i dont think we ever had insurance but you had to sign a waiver at the registration to not hold us liable for anything that may happen.
Your thread asked about a car show and then you state Meet'n'Greet. Not exactly the same thing.Check around with whoever puts on local events that you have attended, and liked. A date/time that does not conflict with other local events. Location that is easy to find. Not a place that is just easy for you to get to.That will involve an agreement with property owner and local businesses. Who will be liable if something goes wrong-wreck, fight, etc? Lots of advertizing-more than just here on the H.A.M.B. Local club to help out. Some type of entertainment. Port-o-johns or businesses allowing access to their bathrooms. Awards, raffle, event goodies if you really want a big turn out. A sponsor, might be burger joint or wherever you will have this Meet'N'Greet.Best to be some place where there is more than one place to eat, unless it is a breakfast type deal. Do lots f planning. Very few may show up, no matter how much you beg or offer free pizza or jamb up this site with your thoughts on how important it is to get together. Likely most trailer queens with trailer would not consider showing up for an hour or two. But, if you are talking about a car show that is a different story. Even some cool "driver" hot rods are trailered if long distance.
I recall a few years back a local car club was putting on a car show. There was a liveband. On of the heavy sound speakers fell on a spectator and really hurt her. Guess what? LAWSUIT. I don't care what kind of event you're hosting. Someone is gonna get sued if an injury occurs. Spectators don't sign waivers!
I am thinking of something that the daily average driver, rod owner wouldn't mind taking in and allowing them into the show. We have an event or two around here that have tended to be rather exclusionary leaving some really fantastic in progress rides in the spectator parking lot. I have spent more time out there than inside where I spent my dollars to see a lot of catalog rides. My thought, my consideration is giving those that have worked their heart out a place to show it off. Possibly the best way to start out would be to try and put together a drive in to the races or something of the like at our drag strip, letting those that want to race it out, to do so... Will need to chat up the guys at Firebird and possibly get together with a diner to try out a greet and meet.
Insurance. I do this for a living with a large company behind me so it's a given for me. After seeing what I have seen, I wouldn't think of any kind of an "advertised" event without it. Any time you are inviting people out of your close knit circle, you are dealing with unknowns. pm me if you want a few years of knowledge, but all it will lead to is: Insurance.
