I started making my windsheild for the coupster. My plans are to follow the shape and style of a 1940 chevy windsheild since I used a dash out of a '40. I'm debating on the side posts. Should I make a curve in the bottom to match the cowl like this(I still have t******* to do)

    or straight like this

I like the looks of the curved posts also, but will the area where the gl*** mounts be flat?

My plan is to mount the winsheild in rubber like the '40 chevy. It will be flat. I'm doing it like that so I can run a top on it someday.

    Curved.

Might just be the rough fab bits, but the frame looks huge and out of proportion to the car's overall scale due to the width of the pieces.

    Good luck.

The curve will match the body line.

I keep telling you Jeff, the V-8 thing is a fad - its just like computers. It will never catch on

Yeh, it'll die out. I thought about it, I really did. But I heard most in-lines have a hard time getting across intersections in urban areas. It just won't work because I live in a big city :)

I made some progress. I went in between, and straightened the curve a little. Here is what I came up with. I wanted a window shape similar to the '40 chevy I used the dash from...

I plan on having a flange on the back side of the frame for the gl*** to set on, then I will glue the flat gl*** in with urethane sealant.

I wanted it stiff enough to not flex and break the gl***, so I went with 3/16 for the structure. It'll be heavy, but not so bad once I trim the holes for the gl***.

I like it...thats a good medium between straight and curved.

Maybe chop the whole thing down a couple inches?

I agree. It needs to be chopped at least two inches. I'm making dies for the top peices now.

Getting close. I decided not to chop it down. I like the height. With the long door it has better proportions, I think anyway. I finished the trim anyway. I can post more pictures later when I have more time.
