  7. Ya gotta start somewhere. A&W wasn't all that big when the wall was still there. People parked like Rubic's Cube in there, and the dirt alley next door, and on the adjacent streets. There may also be another lot for another business next door. Anyway, the "other" suggested spot is so far from everything, you may as well park at your driveway at home. It's just a suggestion for a possible spot that is near to most the attention. If the A&W wasn't on the main drag where the cruise took place on Friday, it prolly wouldn't have been used either. My 2 cents

  8. I agree. But, it might take a few of these to settle on something. I was just suggesting something to maybe speed the process. It's not like a weekly cruise event where you can try a different idea every 7 days. This is once a year. So, it may take years for it to find it's way. Go, don't go. Hell, they might not even want us there at Jack's.

  9. i just got a new room. i'm leaving sac at noon on friday. see you guys at the show.

hey - Alex - come on by my booth (I am inside the vendor building) - I gotta give you some Vintage Torque DVDs!

you can sell them in your shop or give em to friends or use them for toilet paper (ouch)

Are you going to partake in the cruise on Friday night? I know if you go - many other people will go as well!

    Later!

I know someone mentioned it earlier, but that Jack in the Box parking lot literally only holds about 20 cars.

However, just 3 blocks south of the Santa Maria Inn there are very large parking lots on both sides of Broadway (the main drag going all the way through town), which also happens to swell to 3 lanes of traffic going each way. I know there is a Starbucks in the JC Penny parking lot, and I also think there is a food joint next door? Not sure on that one.

Google Earth has some very good resolution pics of that downtown area, just in case someone really wanted to try to map out an area.

    My 2 cents.

I don't remember what year my first Paso was... all I remember is it was not in the downtown park... mebbe at the fairgrounds, and my buddy refused to turn on the AC in his T-bird Turbo Coupe cuz it sucked all the power out of that little 4 banger.

I have 2000 + pictures from 1997 until last year though.. I know that for sure.
I was almost not going to go. no money-no car-nobody else is going that I know.... then Gambino got me all riled up with this post!!! what the fuck was I thinking??? fuck the landlord. I'll pay the rent later.

rented me a japanese shitbox with a Chevrolet Bowtie on the trunk lid. got 2 1GB cards for my camera. prolly be sleeping in the car. be prepared for the HAMB Paso Maria Photo extravaganza when I come back....

Thats an even better idea! There is a huge parking lot right on the corner of Stowell/Broadway which is the corner right down the street from the farigrounds. Its a JC Penny parking lot with a Starbucks and some other small food joints, its also directly across the street from 7-11 for quick beer refills! It is literally 1 block from the fairgrounds. Just an idea folks!

My first thought was to go about 1 or 2 blocks north of the Santa Maria Inn. At that intersection I think there is a Mexican food place with a decent lot and across the street a muffler shop or something? Anyways, that intersection has railroad tracks cutting across Broadway so I'm sure that could make for some entertainment, then 1/2 a block up the street is the Maverick (a bar) but their parking lot isn't much bigger than the one at Jack in the Box. However, even between all 3 of those areas that's still only able to fit 60 cars maybe? That and the fact I think a lot of people will probably go out of their way to AVOID the railroad track crossing... might as well move south to the JC Penny parking lot.
