Great thread... Who else wants to go do it all over again right now? Hasn't even been a week yet and I wish it was time for the next Showdown.

Didn't think you were ever going to let old rusty out of the bag. Laughed my a-- off watching the mud wrestling. Looked to be a good time for all. Enjoyed the thread as usual.

As always thanks for the great threads Megan and Denise!

Maybe Rusty Olds should just get slammed and stay rusty! And if you do paint it, it should be copper (rust colored). :D

Denise, it was great meeting you again too. Don't worry about "outing" me . Judging by how gay I look in the pics I'm sure people can figure it out for themselves. I'm still trying to grab the 53 sedan delivery, so I'll keep ya posted. I'm heading off to Paso/maria tomorrow morning to meet up with Sophia, who's flying in from Austria. Hopefully when I get back I can pick up the 53. Keep me posted with the progress on Rusty Olds

Damn.....we did all that?? No wonder I'm still tired.

Was a fun long weekend with a great bunch of people. Larry and crew did an excellent job!!

Looking foreword to taking my own ride next year and not hand winching cars onto trailers.

    Two words....ELECTRIC WINCH!

wow! how can print media compete with content like this? now that you two are 'tag-teaming' the posts (not to mention johnny longhair), it's even better!

When you told me last week not to miss this thread, you knew then what you had up your sleeve! Here I am over a thousand miles away and you still didn't clue me in!! What a great story - great coverage. I have been avidly reading the threads and looking at the pictures of the event and have posted how I would like to make it to the Showdown some year, now you and Megan make it a necessity! Thanks for taking the time and effort to provide all this. Rusty Olds is cool and Megan, the Roadster is, well it is! "Talk" to you later. Thanks again

Great story...always cool to follow along one of your photo-journalism posts! (Felt like being there...without getting wet!)

Rusty Olds looks cool, but MAROON? That's a great color, for sure...but RUSTY Olds oughtta be painted...you know, a RUST color!!! :D Ha Ha...oh well, plenty o' time for that decision to be made.

Say...how much was the red Karman Ghia (the coupe), anyway??!!

    :)

If I'd known that three chicks were going to be mud wrestling I would have stayed around. Kind of looked like the tall skinny chick got whipped.

    What can i say?

    Most excellent coverage!

Megan, thanks for the flight 93 memorial coverage, too easy to forget what happened.

Any race fan that doesn't know the Hinnerschnits story needs to get some education!

Denise, congrats on Rusty Olds! I guess you had to be there for the Deville Gal birthday wish!

Thank you both for the coverage. See ypu at the H.A.M.B.drags!

    Hugs,

    jerry

I am still pissed you snaked the convert out of my HOOD..[IMG]

worse yet that chris had a hand in it happening.. [IMG]

alas.. I used up all my good luck on the ride home

this is Tokyo posing alongside the Route 30 bypass around lancaster..[IMG]

just after the scotty decided to separate from the car, at about 50 miles per hour..

luckily we were on the only area of 30 that is multi lane.. and smooth..

notice that the trailer wires, and coupler lock stayed attached.. as did the safety chains..
I am thankful for the dent in the propane tank as it saved the trailer body from hitting the car.

needless to say, I know Lancaster well, and we were at a parts store moments later, buying some parts for the coupler, and new chains to replace those that were damaged in the "event"..

the remainder of the ride home was pretty easy... [IMG]

    glad you got Rusty..
