kustom guys lake pipe outer diameter

    building fender pockets for future set of lake pipes need to know the outer dia of your basic chrome lake pipes. Thanks in advance.

    No, the right "old school" size for lake pipes is 1 3/4". 2" is too large, though there are some manufacturers making them that size.

    The pipes on my Plymouth are from Mooneyes. They're 2-inches in diameter.[​IMG]

    2 inch is the basic chrome lake pipe size that you can purchase from the various speed/parts shops now. Although the 1 3/4 is the Old school O.D.(and have the spot on period look for a traditional custom) , but your going to be hard pressed to find that size new today. I know Ive looked and only can found 2 inch. But the 2 inch look great and are realitivly cheap. Use the 2 1/4 inch exuast u bends. Then cut it in half and trim and cut until you get the desired look for you pocket.

    This is correct oldies were 1-3/4".
