The Edselero is painted and 'Flaked!!!!!

With many thanks to Al Johnson and Carol Mittelsdorf, my Edselero is finally painted! I have been spraying since Friday night, and AJ and Carol did a magnificent job helping me lay it out and tape it off. I wanted to panel paint it Watson style, and I used dark purple and pearl white. The roof has 3/4 inch chrome tape, and purple microflake. What do you guys think? Hopefully I'll have it back together in time for the KKOA show in Gettyburg on Father's Day weekend.

 

Now there's a car Ford shoulda' made. Maybe it would've saved the Edsel. Cool.

 

The lines look choppy are you going to pinstripe it? also the whitewalls look photoshopped on? The car looks really cool!

Ok but in the very first picture infront of the wheel does that line not look choppy? if I am wrong I am sorry, maybe my computer is ****ed up, Sorry if the lines are straight!

I see what you mean,Timebomb. The first pic,the WWW look like they were painted on and the white part of the paint job doesn't look smooth. I think that's what bomb means...

I just got a new camera, and these were the first pics I took with it, and I haven't learned the settings yet. The whitewalls are real, just very dirty. I'll try to get some better pics of the flake, the camera just wasn't picking it up.

Personally, I'm not big on scallops or bellflowers, but it looks like you've nailed the late 50s style. Going to have a real head turner there. Mounting the whitewalls on chrome reverse rims with some three blade knock off caps and a MILD lowering job would sure do a great job of completing the look.

 

Very cool indeed! Just make sure you take the time to make sure the front bumpers are lined up nice and straight.
