I found few of these Montclairs around,nice cars... another guy i know owns a 55 convertible in nice conds...restored! He does not want to part with it...
Wbrw32,thanks to take your time on the whole thing,appreciate it. as stated before it was a fun thing to put public my efforts and at list show the world what's around here... there is still more stuff hidden and the fun is you never know what comes up when you open a door...now i left a bit the full time hunting,but still i have good contacts to rely....but i love to get lost in the coutryside or somewhere just to chase old tin... also if you have some questions to ask,just PM me or put them here...no worries. wbrw32,no sweat at all from my side...just tryin to get a different vision on what we love here on Hamb,old junk,ya know... and yeah,sometimes is difficult to explain how it works here but at list is fun... we can't compare with the amount of cars that you guys have in US,and also in much better conds.... but just a different prospective from south of the border... But in these days with the chinese buyin scrap metal is affecting very much here also..many cars or junkyards are gone forever. i wonder how our hobby it will be in what...20/30 years?? will be cool to look at al these pics then....

Customline,yep...6000 bucks.i remember i paid 2 grand for that thing,and it was original drivetrain running...kinda solid too.Please,don't scream at me now.... Not many 55/56 mercs but there are way more 52 to 54 model years around,especially HT...also convertibles,seen some of em.. I used to have a Sun Valley 54,running...sold it already. But i lost for minutes a rare 55 Sun Valley...needed full resto indeed. I consider those kinda easy finds around here,and there are always some popping up... But yeah,times are changing...who knows in some years if they are still easy to get??? PS.perhaps i can find another one if you want....
Bluenose,glad you like it....i think there is still good junk around,not easy to find it on the streets anymore exept for some areas,but in any case i know lot more hidden stuff...not for sale right now,or they don't want pics taken ,you know the same crappy stories...the most common is they gonna fixed soon,and you realized time later it was scrapped at list....you can't save them all!!! But hey,not a good idea to came down with pocketful of cash ,you never know...safety first! but deals can be done in a safer way,no worries...

I think if clinton or obama, hell even if mccain wins lol I will be moving to Cabo San Lucas, or maybe La Paz close to my out-law in-laws.... I saw some ok old tin around there, but lots of hunting to find the good stuff. Love the thread sled keep it going...
A5windowcoupe,good idea...but is even better more south than that...over there is like Gringolandia with expensive prices and turistic attitude beautiful beaches on Michoacan,Nayarit and Colima provinces..many gringos (no pun intended) and canadians down there....they'll love it!
I'd have given anything for that Montclair earlier. Now I have a '56 Customline Victoria (my second favorite). I had a '55 Montclair back in about '62 or so. I love those low tops and my Vicky has that. Sure was a pretty one though ..
To think I grew up 10 miles from Mexico and all the times I went across for liquor, smokes or dinner, I never ONCE thought about looking in junkyards. My lord at the stuff I may have passed up. Time to put my shoes on....
My in laws live in cabo, and This summer we are going back again for another 2 weeks. It i very americanized over there in the larger cities, but I loved some of the small towns we visited. We did very little touristy stuff when we went last summer, we tried to do everything the locals do and go where they go. Fish Tacos kicked ass MMMMMMMMMM way better than what we have on the coast of Texas here. I will try to load some pics from last yr there. not much metal in my pics. My bro in law has taken some pics of nice old tin. but most of my stuff was baja vehicles I got to shoot pics of. Not too HAMB friendly.. YEs those beaches were gorgeous I hope see some more that I did not get to last year. Many many salvage yards with cars, some not as old as I would have liked, but the little tire repair guy had several. Yes many canadians too, We made several new Canadian friends and crank lots of Clamotoes(sp)??

Can you "SLED", or someone else. tell me more about this car?? We bought this for 33.500$ via Jonas Gronberg/ www.mexicansn.se in June 2007. We have already payed for it, but now a year later, not recieved it???????????? We have lost contact with Jonas, but we have heard that You sled is a friend of him?? There are also another 3W, green project car, also payed for but no delivery....... I have sended several e-mails about this to "sled" but no answer???? This is the other car, that my friend Kaj Rosenberg has paid about 15000$ for.... i should arrive in the same container as our blue 3W.... Strange that Sled has this on page 2 in this thread, and bought it over a year ago???? If you take a look att www.mexicansn.se you find them under sold cars????? Peter,about your friend's Kaj 36 i bought it in Mexico city long ago,and sold it in between with other cars i rememer,it was a fast deal...kept it for short time only...the car never left Mexico,so obviously the info on being sold in Sweden is not correct... Hi Peter,i can rely only in my info about long ago for Kaj 36 ,you know...if jonas is in Mexico fixin things,that's good and he has many contatcs here also... my infos are not updated and cars can appear for sale again with other guys that like to sell em,it happens all the time to me that i loose track of cars and years later they appear for sale again...so can be the case,ya know i used to be 1 of his contacts but having his family in mexico he can work with many car guys around,no idea... Mexico city has more than 30 million people,a huge messy place and many locals are sellin cars everywhere,mostly in Us... Again,i'm trying to help you out the best i can according to my infos,but i don't have the full vision myself... later
One thing i wonder about..... If You bough this car 05/18/2007, and Jonas sold it to Kaj Rosenberg within a month later.. and had exactly the same photos.... check www.mexicansn.se and salda bilar.... I have heard about gfast car trades... but if this is true, Jonas knew the car was already sold when he sold it.... And where is our Blue 3W????
