Jersey Girl 32, is this the tan '32 that was sold in the white field at Hershey about 3 or 4 years ago?? Sure looks like it.
I had to drop out of the club a few years ago when I sold my 5W but now I guess I'm in again with this 60s style roadster
You know mine. I just can't load a photo here. _____________________________________________________________ Like I told the kid, "Your music not too loud, it just sucks!"
Here's three more "real steel" '32's from 3 window Larry's home turf, Tulsa (flyover country) Okla. Doc Squat's nifty Tudor at Springfield NSRA. Our buddy Jack's recently completed three window and my beater roadster at the bottom
Heres mine...............just completed in May. Congrats on the R and C spread Larry and it was nice visiting with you in Lamar. Later RP
Mine is still mocked up while I work on parts for it. The frame will be ready soon and by fall the car should finally be a roller. Dave http://www.roadsters.com/
Can't believe I didn't come across this thread earlier ... I guess I might as well "join the club" on my 100th post. Here's a "brief" pictorial history of my Deuce ... actually, it's my late father's Deuce ... I became the caretaker of HEMI32 on my 32nd birthday ... 1954 (Beach, North Dakota): Purchased car (less 4-banger engine) from original owner for $40. 1955 (Beach, North Dakota): The beginnings of a HOT ROD ... channeled (6" in front, 8+" in rear) ... 1953 Chrysler 331ci HEMI ... etc. 1958 (Beach, North Dakota): Chopped (2.5") ... black & white tuck & roll upholstery ... four Stromberg 97's ... chrome engine accessories ... Lancer hubcaps ... etc. 1963 (Fremont, California): Moon discs ... new driver (me @ age 2). 1973 (Oakland, California): 25th Grand National Roadster Show ... fresh red paint (1956 Cadillac "Mandan Red" lacquer) ... molded / bobbed rear fenders … American 5-spoke (magnesium) rims on Goodyear rubber … custom Hagemann aluminum hood ... custom Sanderson headers ... polished M/T valve covers ... drilled & chromed front suspension ... chromed King Bee headlights ... etc. September 1975 (Fremont, California): In early '75, we swapped the 331ci HEMI for a fresh 1958 Chrysler Imperial 392ci HEMI (A-1 block, .060 overbore = 404.5ci) ...1969 Dodge HEMI torque-flite (with B&M manual shift valve body) ... polished Aluminum firewall ... etc. 1980 (North Dakota border): Filled top ... en route to the NSRA Natsionals in Memphis ... we took the "long route" ... drove north to visit my grandparents farm in Minnesota ... before heading south to Tennessee ... stopped to take a pic of the coupe's return to its "birthplace" (it hadn't been back in ND since leaving the Midwest in 1962). 1996 (Danville, California): Behring (now Blackhawk) Auto Museum ... FISH rims (aluminum Halibrand look-a-likes, Fronts: 4-inch wide rims on 135/15 Michelins radials, Rears: 8.5-inch wide rims on 7.20x11.80x15 Firestone Super Modified Dirt Trackers) ... Holley 750 ... etc. 2006 (Alameda County Fairgrounds, Pleasanton, California): The "Deuce Bruce" Olson Best Bitchin Memorial Reunion @ GOODGUY'S 20th West Coast Nationals.
cool stuff Hemi32 - that is one bitchin ride. The 70's sure got a hold of it! I like it all ways. The second photo bofore it was chopped sure looks good. I like it chopped more though. The history is awesome.
Here's my coupe along with the Chuck Price Roadster that I "Resurrected" for the significant 75 last year
Here's one of ours..276ci. Flathead power! Pic with Steelies With polished Salt Flats.. And an interior shot.
I grew up in Fremont, I moved here when I was 10 in 1965. Seeing this hot rod coming down the street always blew me away. This is the Hot Rod that started it all for me. Chuck
Yes this is the coupe that has been killing me for years . I'm just waiting till she hits the road. Please tell us the whole story and welcome to the HAMB,going to Skipps?
Here's mine, on the road last year for Deuce Days as a Hi Boy, and over the winter I put the fenders, woodgrained dash and new top on. HemiDeuce.
Man I liked it as a high boy but there is just something about FENDERS. How do you keep the windshield from fogging up in the cold with those hood louvers? Bruce
Bitchin' roadster! What's up with the different license plates? ... did you have to re-register it when you put the fenders on?
I haven't had any problem with the windshield fogging up when it's cold, cause it's not that cold up here. After I put the fenders on, I applied, and received a Modified Collector Licence Plate which gives me insurance for 300.00 a year and no more Air Care testing. The Govt. which runs the Provincial Insurance company are starting to enforce the fender and bumper laws, and we don't have a fair weather fender law, like many other jurisdictions, so the fenders etc. are required. I always wanted a full fendered car and painted and polished the fenders when I built the car, but hung them on the wall for the first year. Thanks for the compliments. This build has been a 50 year dream come true. Some of the original 32 sheet metal I've had for 46 years. HemiDeuce.
I posted early in this thread about my roadster. I have been hoping to drive my 3W to the NATS in Louisville 2008 but I have finally come to the conclusion it is not going there this year. Maybe next year ... whem it is BLACK. Photo was October 2007 . Took it apart for final paint and this is how it looks as of July the 4th ... 2008. .
