I like the way she is right now, The white wheels and the two tone work for me. Has the right out of an old Hot Rod Magazine pit truck look. If I was going to change it, I agree with Mojo, I would do a 60's style grey five spoke. I wouldn't radius the rear wheel wells but everything else is kool. Good luck!!

    Happy Trails,

I don't know why, but I've always loved the Keystone Klassic.

I am aligned with the slot group (for the record, I prefer polished), for two reasons. First, those were the wheels that I lusted after (and even had on my car) back in those years. Second, as common as slot wheels were back then, they aren't seen too much any more. You mentioned that this was your first, reflexive idea; I think it is a good one.

Yeah, good ol' Torque Thrusts. Like this:

(I also tweaked the rake a bit. then I sprayed on some paint...)

  10. Just throw some spiders and beauty rings on it for now to see how you like them...

If you change your mind after looking at it for a while you'll aways be able to use or sell the spiders/rings...

I really think the straight spoke torque thrust look would do wonders for it...I'd go 15" though.

Here's a picture from Vintage wheel works...

Mojo nailed it. There's no doubt that I'd go that route. Wow!

&.... if anyone needs one of these things, I can hook you up with a pretty good one. ;)

with a 5x4.75 bolt pattern (same as an s-10) you should have no problem finding a set of torque thrusts or cragars for it.

depending on what color you paint it, i think some powdercoated ones would look really cool. maybe flat gray, white or even black.

    I voted for other because I'm a freakin' goofball.

I actually have several thoughts or order of ideas.

    First off other.

Chrome reverse bro. Not Chrome smoothies but the real deal chrome reverse wheels like we used in the period that little hooptie would have been messed with. No hub caps either, just not cool in my book.

Next I guess painted with spiders, I always liked spiders without glamor rings just the spiders.

Everything else comes after that. With the slot mags comming in dead last. Too seventies van scene for me I guess.

  14. Rashy, I'm really surprised that no one has mentioned the official wheel of Florida. Chrome smoothies. You could hide them with those ugly ass cones. And they are the cheapest wheel you can buy. BTW the steelies are fine.

Personally I think the Gasser ET's on front and Halibrand Sprints rear - THAT would look sweet...and keep the rake.

    WOW!

Thanks for all the input guys!!!

Toot, you're insane! That's it, I'm rolling it "Donk" :D

I have to say my favorite idea so far is one I hadn't even thought of. The As cast center Torque Thrusts... Not one of Toots favorite wheels.

I was emailed a lead on some different wheels Not sure I've seen them before...

    Anyone know anything about these?

As for chrome steelies... I had a set, nice ones, that Cob made me a deal on. Then I figured I'd never use them and sold them stupid cheap... Oh well.

Those parnelli jones wheels look awesome..reminds me of all the modern billet cnc wheels out now...with a very close design, and theres parnelli banging them out, decades ago.

You stated you were going to stick with 14's and I'm not sure these came in 14's but I'd go with the wheels below. Yeah, not something you generally see on a HAMB vehicle but I think they would be pretty cool. Especially on a rear engined van.

Sometimes you need to go the unconventional route on what is an pretty unconventional vehicle.
