Sweet car, great presence, and pure.....

My 2c, ever considered opening up the slot in the nose vertically a bit more, and painting the rims gloss black.....

    Hi

I love the top chop. Does it have both slanted posts and stretched roof or just slanted posts? How much is it chopped?

It's really the first coupe that has made me break into a cold sweat since Larry's 3W. Very cool hood and those blackwalls are a perfect choice.

Did you have to have some support on the inside if the trunk lid? I see all the rivits, how did you brace it?

  15. [IMG] awesome

i'd agree on the gloss black wheels comment and the grille opening size critique... but like i said... your car is extremely cool... any more pics of it for those of us in the cheap seats?

upon further review because i can't stop staring at the thing i'd paint the hood and decklid to match... but that's just me  (maybe a race car number painted on like an old airplane's i.d.# somewhere too... i dunno'... but i like it!)

The nose says to me P-61 ???

Nice job Pete! Saw it in the Magneto Calendar and then pre-louvers in Hop-Up. Everything about it, to me, is on the MONEY. Once the grille is in, it will help with the overall visual. Tell Flash to make another Calender, haven't bought one since then!

I slanted the a-pillars back about 10 dg so I didnt have to add anything to the roof. The roof is chopped 4 1/2 inches but I didnt actually start with a complete header to that's kind of a guestimate. Donnie Smart sponsored this build, I actually drove to North Carolina to his shop several times for parts and advise, he's a great guy with lots of talent.
As far as the color...When I got the gallon of paint it was too light so we added black tint to darken it.

The deck lid was an old stock car piece from a locar racer. When I got it the inner liner was already removed, typical of the stock car guys. The outer skin was trashed, so I cut that off as well and attached the aluminum as you see. The deck lid isnt finished though, I have to remove it and run it through the english wheel to add more crown and have it louvered.
