Just experimenting and I would like the early Drag Coupe look. The chassis and suspension parts will be white and not sure on body color. Photoshop and opinions would be helpful. Let the bashing begin.:D

Pretty sure that a 'gas' class would require fenders. Altered class didn't require them.

Looks good. If by Drag Coupe your talking about the Gas classes in the late 50's early 60's for hot street driven coupes, dbradley is correct about the fenders. NHRA gas class before 1962 required fenders, full interior, no more than 4" combined chop/channel, lights, wipers and current street registration. In '62 the restrictions started coming off and the Gasser Wars began.

I cannot do photo-shop, but I've been into Drag style coupes forever.
    Here is an original:

  14. I'd say white too, and different headers. Run altered, looks bitchen without fenders. The caps are nice, but would you run caps on the strip?

    The guys are correct:

With Fenders and 10% engine set back = Gasser Class
    Without Fenders = Altered Class

I've always loved the late '50's and early '60's style Altered Coupes .... of course street legal today so we can enjoy 'em.

I don't have an opinion on paint ('cept maybe Gold body to go with the white parts you mentioned?) but when someone says Hot Rod that car with it's overall stance & look is pretty much what comes to my mind :)

    Nice ride!

I'd leave it the way it is and start another project! I really like it as it is now!

    Nice shop decor too!

I would love to see more pics of the early 60s style As. That's kinda what I'm shooting for with my A. The one in the first pic is perfect. Just curious but, why white for the frame?

Is your visor "holey"? If not, that would be step #1. In fact, I believe there were laws enacted that required that modification on all model A coupe/sedan drag cars back in the 60s.

But they always required fenders. This car looks like about a "C/A".

  29. I think that car is too nice to be a race car, the rear tires fit the rear arches prefectly, etc. Put some shiny pant on there and leave it be.

Not a race car but just to look like one for the street.
