Where's Squirrel??

I sure could have used his brain yesterday. Does anyone know what happened to him?

 

I was fortunate enough to be able to communicate with Squrrel this past winter regarding building robots. While I don't live near him and have never met him personally I certainly respect his knowledge and attitude.

Does anyone know why he disappeared from here? He ALWAYS has an intelligently thought out answer to an engine question.

 

maybe he was tired of some of the B.S. going on

 

B.S. is part of the entertainment to a lot of folks on here and the unrestricted ability to make fun of anything and everything can get some people down
personally I dont care and it is only a reflection of the sender not the actual fact of the recipiant

Been wondering the same about him... he sure came throught for me a couple of times. This site is worse off with out him

 

Unfortunately that's been the trend, on this site, over the last couple of years as you've seen.
You get away from the site, for a couple days at work, and the site moves so fast you miss a lot of cool posts buried in the sea of off topic crap.
With the large number of recent members posting off topic crap, just to get the post count up, it's hard for the moderators to keep up.
Then the posters get all offended when the thread gets closed and asshole rebuttal comments ensue.
None of them ever read the rules, when they join, then they post about 70s vehicles, camaros, mustangs, billet and street rods and get their feelings hurt when someone flames them.
This place has become a lot more tolerable than it used to be 5 or 6 years ago.
That's probably why he's gone.
That's probably also why some of the older guys don't post as much as they used to anymore.

 

Squirrel didn't seem like the sensitive type, like the BS would bother him. Not that I'm gay for him, but I tried to read his answers, because he knew what he was talking about.

yes it does suck that hes not on here, With his vast knowledge, he has educated me in many things, and I always respected him. I was able to PM him many times and he would get right back with me, with as much knowledge as he owned, on the issues i was faced with. ( mostly SBC stuff) He has probably moved on to friendlier pastures.
there are many ways this place and get abrasive sometimes. Maybe he just needed a break from it for a while, and utilize his tallents else where. I have also caught my self getting caught up in some of the drama here, think im going to turn the page on that one on here too. I feel my opinion on the O/T subjects and bashing others just isnt why I came here.
Found myself just not interested in the un-car, un- traditional.. un-cool crap that plays out alot on here, so I have made a choice to not open or respond to those threads..hope i do well..it can be hard sometimes. I think human nature brings us to put our opinions out there in force sometimes, mostly when its really not necessary or approreate. and i guess when it really comes down to it, the only one who can change that is our own self.
