Before I start this opinionated rant, let me say that I am not placing all Vette owners in a catagory. This is just my observation at a few shows and on the street.

You ever go to a hot rod/muscle car show and there is the Vette Guy. He's got a '86 Vette and has the hood up, like he may have something going on, but upon closer inspection it REALLY is just a stock Vette? Or, you're out cruising or at the hang out and just about everyone has something good to say about your car, except Vette Guy? In fact, his main reason for thinking your car ****s is because it's not a Vette? Or you're on the street, like I was a night ago, and Vette Guy is wanting to try you? Like the laws of power to weight don't apply in Vetteland? No, I didn't street race Vette Guy, but I did get to 60MPH (which was the speed limit on this section of Almeda Rd.) a hell of a lot quicker than he did. When he finally catches up, his only words are that the reason he couldn't keep up is because of a restrictor he needs to remove!? Did they even have that **** back then!? If they did, WTF kind of excuse is that for an *** whipping?

What is it that makes a normally nice guy turn into a pompous Vette Guy? Yea, most model Vettes (before '72) are freakin' sweet and most owners I've met, including my uncle are cool people. But WTF is up with this Vette Guy and why is he the biggest ***hole behind a steering wheel?

End of rant. Discuss a****st yourselves and espond in kind. thank you.

A vette is just a factory made ***** extension ... yours just happens to be home made and bigger and he resents that you make it look so good for a lot less money. Just a theory, but yeah, get over it.

Q: What's the difference between a porcupine and a Corvette?
A: A porcupine has *****s on the outside.

Peer studiously at his engine; then giggle and point. "Hahahahaha!! Look! The poor nit had the forward exhaust clamp plated in #2 Cadmium! Everyone knows those are #1 finish!" Do this while there's a crowd present. Don't sweat the details of what you say--you are a self appointed expert, and so able to crush the poor devil like a sow bug in front of his peers! He will have nightmares about this for YEARS, trust me, and will start taking an article on muffler clamp finishes he tore out of a Vette magazine everywhere with him, desperately trying to show everyone in the world that his exhaust clamp was indeed right! These people are so easy to manipulate you won't believe it.

Years ago I was leaving a local mall parking lot in my 66 Galaxie on a cold evening. The car had no choke so I was reeving it a little at the traffic light by the exit to keep her from stalling. Well in the next lane over was a guy in Vette. Both lanes turned left and when the light turned green mister vette must have thought it was a race and trompped it. I pulled out at my usual boat like pace. Couple seconds later I look in the rear view mirror to see Mr. Vette's car up on a median seperating his lane from a high way off ramp. I also saw some red & blue lights flashing. I have no clue what that guy was thinking or trying to prove.

Well, one good thing...you probably won't hurt anyone's feelings here because I gotta feeling that there aren't any "Vette Guys" here.

My guess is that there are probably owners of Corvettes here who are actually cool and are defying the stereotype of "Vette Guy". Just a theory.

A friend of mine who is a bit older than me worked hard, kept his nose to the grindstone, and rarely vacationed. After 30 years he built a strong business, raised and educated two kids, and built his wife a new home. Soon after he bought a Corvette telling everybody that it was cheaper than a divorce. After 20 years of following in his footsteps I now understand what he was saying. He's probably not the Corvette Guy you are describing.

Silver Jackets and gold chains... VIVA LA VETTE!

(my pops and I wear vette guys out around here for EXACTLY the same **** you said)

My mom has owned a few corvettes her whole life. She just sold her 88' Greenwood Vette with 35,000 miles on it. Even she realized it wasn't cool anymore. Not even as a girls car! Our family car albums are filled with old vettes, street and drag race. I agree the old ones are sweet... But the newer vettes usually have *** holes behind the wheel..

This is the only Vette we still have around the house shop.

Von Rigg beat me to the joke! My dad has an affinity for Vettes too, but he's the kind of ***hole who won't make excuses if you smoke his car. Then again, he's my kind of ***hole. LOL

  18. Buying a Vette didn't make me an ***hole,... I've always been like this:D

I love they're insignia matching jackets, gloves and tool bags. What is it with those guys thinking they have to separate themselves from other cars at shows.

Nothing to get over. It's just a funny observation I made. I just wondered if anyone else had encountered the same at***ude.

My dad has one and he isn't a jerk. So there goes your theory. He even quit hanging out with the Cowtown Corvette club because they were such ***holes. They didn't like that his stock '87 convertible would whip their C5s and ZR1s in the cheezy autocross events they would put on. Screw em.

Oh yeah - I like Corvettes.

your dad may not be Gotgas, but you just re-enforced the theory by saying he doenst hang out with his local corvetter club guys because they were such... ***holes.

    Don't forget Vinny...the mid 80's Berlinetta Camaro idiot...LOL.

The only Vette I'd own would be a pre '67 and preferably pre '63, and I would never even park next to "Corvette Guy"...let alone ***ociate with him.

I look up and see this mountain of a man ( Bob K) Smiling down at me . Now every time i see the commercial for enzyte with the smiling guy named "BOB" I scream like a lil girl and run ! I guess I was the one that needed the natural male enhancement.

I like corvettes. I wish I had the money for one though. What's worse than the A-hole corvette guys (which like some have said, not all are A-holes) are the Viper guys. I've yet to meet one of those that I could stand for more than five minutes.
