Who has a Gasser style car ? Stand up and be counted !

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by AHotRod, Feb 9, 2004.

  1. My brother and I found our dads old B/Gas '56 chevy on ebay in '04
We're in the process of retoring it back to its heyday configuration from '66-'67. The black & white photo is the '63 Smokers Meet in
Bakersfield as a C/Gasser against Hugh Tuckers roadster during eliminations for"Little Eliminator". The color photo is from the ebay add when we found it in Celeste, Tx. We have one other photo from San Fernando approx '65-'67. I'll post it as soon as I figure how too.
Any pics would be greatly appreciated. Ric. 68_12_sb.jpeg

They were raised for weight transfer, 24" from the ground to the center of the crankshaft was the maximum allowed....

That Blair's '55 is one of my all-time favorite 55s and it has Lions track time too.

Here's my neighbor's car from the late '60's early '70's. Mike Daly, who still owns & runs Daly's machine in Omaha, Ne. That car has Great stance & ran pretty good too.

My neighbor's '55 from long, long ago inspired me to build a Gasser so here's the start. I'm 3 months in from having nothing, to this. I hope to have it done by spring '09

That is just bad....Can't wait to see it done!

  19. Here's mine form one of the first passes at Irwindale late 69 i think. Didn't even have glass yet. But the Hilborn Injected BBC and 4 speed were a Handful! The car later held the B/Gas record at Irwindale. Getting ready to run the car again, will post pics when it's ready to roll out. Shown the pic elsewhere but what the heck

Neither of these cars were raced, both were street cars.
The one on the left is a Hillman station wagon, 427" Ford/ C6 auto.
The Anglia had a small block Dodge, Torqueflite
I bought the Anglia for $15 from a lady who had it stored in her garage. I spotted it on my paper route one day. Bob Hines built it up as a street gasser.
    Dale Giese built the Hillman.
Both looked awesome going down the freeway together.
I took this photo in Newport Beach, CA., June 1968

Jim Adcocks 376 cubic inch Chevelle. Needless to say this was a losing run. Great shot though

Maybe one of you Gasser Guys can help me out ? I have been searching for a old picture of my car. It was raced in B/Gas back in the late 60's from what I have heard. Here is the oldest picture I have of it. This picture is from the early 80's im guessing????
