No friends

Well I got my body off the chassis tonight. But I had to do it all by myself. I can see why guys belong to clubs now to get some help when things get heavy. Anyway its off now, with a little help from my cherry picker I was able to snake it onto a roller cart straight off the back.
I need to find a club to join here in the freekin middle of nowhere

WHY I am not in a club but yet have friends that are willing to help...its called Hot Rodding...Clubs can be a pain in the****.

 

You don't really have to join a club to have friends. If you want friends you have to be a friend......not a creep.

You could have gone out to the redwood road drive-in and brought some help back? Or laid some jello salad or cookies out on the curb.

 

shoulda called me seriously, i'm always willing to hang out with local hambers and lend a hand.

I took my 54 body off a trailer today by myself.. it was not so bad, cherry picker is a goog helper..

 

I do most of my work alone.

When we're shootin the***** my buddies always marvel at how much I seem to accomplish solo when most guys work in pairs. I tell em it's no coincidence

 

Clubs help only when they need something from you...do it yourself just be creative and safe.

Man, I hear you but have faith. I bought a house this year after a bitter divorce because it was a good deal in an awesome neighborhood. After I moved in I found out that out of the [8] 1 acre lots around my house that %50 were car nuts! No BS. But, it is zoned pretty strictly. The dude right next to me has a 55 chevy PU, a 1918 T PU, a 72 vette and a 51 chevy sedan! The guy thru the woods behind me restores Corvettes and another between the 2 has a 69 Superbird and 2 Trans Ams tucked away(a body shop owner) in some portable garages. I couldn't believe it. They're all waay mellow compared to me but I think I'm all set as far a complaints go!!!! WooHoo!

 

When working with helpers, thinks always seem to go wrong, thing crash to the floor, and stuff breaks. When you work by yourself, there is a better success rate of non-breakage, and more work done. Also if something does go south, there is no one else to blame except yourself. Plus there will never be any leaks on the story of what went wrong, when you work alone.

 

I actually enjoy working alone. Set your place up with the things you need to
do the job. Make it work. I have friends to help if necessary but it's faster
to do it alone with the right stuff.

 

Not only do I do most of my work alone, but I do it after midnight. If I screw up and get hurt no one would even find me until morning.

If I need help I know I can count on the guys I met through the HAMB. Whether it is heavy lifting, or a little thinking something through, I get the help I really need.

im 8 hours away, but hell, if gas wasnt so damn expensive i would try and help out as much as i could, even though i dont know a whole hell of alot about cars =\

 

I've mada an sling using 4x4's and chain and using my cherry picker I lift the 54F100 body off the chassis by my self. Even with the steering column installed.

 

Friends are highly overrated

My rates start at $10/hr just to hang out, drink your beer, and offer advice,,, and go up to $27/hr to be a full time yes-man

better to learn how to work alone the depend on others. i get 10 times more done with no one around then when people are at my shop.

its great to have the extra hand but not the wasted time of bsing and explaining what you are doing.

I've got a friend. His name is Mo. He sits in the shop while I work and listens to my*****kickin music and my********* and never******es. Mo is a pug. He likes little saucers of beer. If you want a real friend get a dog.

I have removed and installed many bodies by myself. Did a 48 Plymouth sedan a while back with my engine hoist and a couple of tow straps. Did my 31 coupe with 2 metal ramps and some milk crates

I'm just the opposite. When my buds come over, I go out to the shop and put thier****es to work! hahaha. They always want to learn how to weld and stuff, so I give each one of them a job and I supervise them till midnight! lol. I work em until they drop! Then they dont bring thier sorry*****s over so often to bug me! lol, Mikey
