FNG Tampa Fl.

I am new to the H.A.M.B. and just recently moved to Tampa, being the FNG in Florida I was wondering if any one knows where the local rodders cruise, hangout, maybe a show, swap meet, anything....

Plant City has a cruise in the second Saturday of the month. Not much in the way of traditional rides, but a lot of nice cars.
Swap meet has to be Webster, 1st Sunday of the month, but not June, July and August, too hot!

Moving to Tampa in a couple weeks... does the hot rod, cruising season, kinda go away in the summer months?

 

Been here a couple of months now and have not found a good cruise spot, moved here right after a few good shows but have not heard of anything coming up. There is a Quaker Steak and Lube "wing restraunt" across the bay in St. Petersburg that has a bike night on wed. I have heard some rods and customs show up there but I have not personally made it over there yet. I moved from Cincinnati were we had a cruise in and show every weekend in the summer months, I've been a little disappointed in the amount of hot rods I have seen down here... The ones I have seen look like easter eggs, with pastel paint jobs and were probably really cool in the late 80's early 90's. I am constantly looking for a good show in the Tampa area if I here of anything I let u know.

 

Welcome to Florida. There are things to do but when it's really hot and humid, a lot of it slows down. There is a good size cruise here in Spring Hill every thursday evening at the Chick-Fil-A on Rte. 50. See if you can find a copy of the "Cruise News". Most speed shops or custom places should have it or look online for the info. Lots listed there. Also, www.FloridaCarShows.com may be helpful. Mike

 

The hot rod season NEVER goes away in Florida! That's why I'm moving there in a few years. When I get there I will ask to join the Poor Boys, cause I will definitely be one by then.

There is a car show on the first Saturday of every month in downtown Dade City. About 40 miles northeast of Tampa up on 301 just north of Zephyrhills.

There is usually a cruise-in someplace in or around Tampa every weekend. Many may be small. You'll soon learn what neighborhoods to stay our of.

There's also one at the DQ in Wesley Chapel (the New Tampa area) every Wednesday evening.

Welcome to Florida ! There are a ton of car shows around ..... in our area, which is about 40 minutes North of you, there are 4 shows a week. We had 500 Tradianal HotRods and Customs at out 1st show last March, so don't let anyone tell you that there are no old HotRods around. They are, we just need more people to step and organize gatherings.

Biff Burger in St. Pete, Friday nights, the Burger King Show, Saturday nights U.S. 19 and 110th ave. I think there is one at the BK off Sheldon Rd in Tampa on Sat. nights.
