That wasn't Paul Norris/Holman-Moody Mustang ... Ralph Shaw in the independant built Mustang out of NC, LaFayette Ford if memory serves. That car was still running intact in the 1970's in the Fayetteville region of NC. SS&DI had a feature on the car.

Two cars from NY state ESTA Park Dragway. Gray ran a T-Bolt in '64, I never heard anything further on Kimball or his Z-11 after '63. Kimball defeated the TASCA Ford '63 T-Bolt prototype at the '63 NHRA Nationals in A/FX class runoffs when Bill Humpfries in the T-Bolt had shifter problems.

    Joel,

I have quite a bit of history on the Kimball Z-11. It ended up in Arizona, and was lost/scrapped there. The aluminum, or some of it anyway, did survive. I've never tracked down Don Kimball though.
Thanks for posting that shot, I didn't have a good copy of it.

    Hey Guys
Tommy is back among the employed. Good for him. I sent your email to him FEMAD and also sent him the link to this thread. Also in the June issue of Muscle Car Review Tommy got some ink.

    Larry,
Is that the current issue on the stands now? I'd love to read the piece. I've been urging Tommy for a long time now to get out the word on himself. People need to know the history of all this.

Yep. They totally did it wrong and ruined it. All they had to do was ask, I've been on this earth since 1960. Steve

Don't is piss you off when people don't ask the right person? Does me. I knew Original owner of Mr Tomato after he quit racing. He had a shop in Del City, Texas. He was killed in a car wreck between Del City and El Paso, I think in the late 70's not sure about the time frame. I do not remember what the car looked like back in the day. I get upset when some one (no Names and not on here) says something about Dickie for what ever reason without really knowing what they are talking about or asking any one who knows. I have been on this earth since 1942....wow I am old....I knew Dick for as long as I can remember and don't know everything he did and neither does any one else, but I do know enough to say I don't know when I don't.
Man I sorta got fired up.. Sorry but I wanted you to know that I know how you feel.

No sweat Larry, good point. Your posts here and on the Dick Harrell forum are always well thought out ... never an off the wall rant.

I hadn't seen a picture of Joniac's "Hairy One" for years. A friend of ours bought that car from Al, Drake Viscome of Carmel Ford in New York. He later bought the Stone, Woods and Cook Pinto funny which he ran injected funny car with; he never would run a blower. His cars were called "Vindicator". I think Diino said recently that Drake is alive and well somewhere in the Carolinas. I guess Forida has some kind of moratorium on any more NY's emmigrating.
"Hairy One" was so named because only the white is paint, all the dark color (blue) was electrostatically applied fuzz. It was pretty cool, had to be a terrible drag producing finish. One of the TV "Bat Cars" that toured the show circuit had that finish also.
