Well after 9 yrs give or take we desided to do a change up on the old 29 (Crusher) it was getting a bit dated . I was also tired of how hard it was to see out when I drove it had so much rake I had to drive in the fetial position just to see out the windshield. Because it has 4 3/4" chop and 5" channel and Im 6' tall. Now I can sit back and see right out the front .In the after pic it still has the old scoop , it now has a hillborn scoop. I also got tired of how loud it was (355 sbc 10:5.1 500 hp +- PG 5500 stall) and took off the zoomies the new headers have mufflers built in , so you can now hear the gear drive it has (havnt heard it for yrs). Also in the pic you might notice the headers dont follow the body line very well ,well after a little inspection I found I tore a weld on the trans mount last fall when I was doing a burnout .The headers now follow the body nicely. So what ya think? Before: After:
Funny thing is , Back when we built it a Hot Wheels kind of look was what we were going for Biggest tires we could fit by the way the old ones are 33 x 21.5 x 15s and as much HP as It could handle and still be street drivin .
Im sorry but the before was FUCKING UGLY! Much MUCH better now! How do those rears handle a boot full?
looks way better now then it did, but then you were with the times when it was built. i wouldnt run a scoop at all and put a full hood on and let people wonder what you have in it. just my .02
Our 29 was a BIG hit at Back to the 50s in Mn . Alot of people know the car in my area (mn) seeing its been on the road for 9 yrs . Alot of people didnt even recognize it . A bunch of the guys in my club didnt even recognize it , even after they walked right by it .
Looks good. Do exhaust fumes float up into the drivers window at stops? My only thought for change would be to get the outlet further back. What color blue is that? Looks very nice.
Looks great! It's far nicer with the skinnier tires and hood top now. You did a reverse update just like I'm planning to do with mine.
Looks way better, it did fit the times it was built in though, but times change. I think I'd lose the tunnel ram now, it really doesn't fit the look now. The scoop, no matter what kind, just doesn't fit that look.
I had taken the muffler tips off at the show they are 23" long , Plus I love the smell of VP-110 Its acually purple not blue. the paint came from a 96 ford ranger , I lightened it up and added a bit more metalic for the body color and darkened up the paint for the chassis
Personally I like it , there really is no way of making people wonder whats under my hood , believe me its one of those you hear it two bloocks away before you see it rods
