Heck yeah! Looking forward to it. At this point it looks like the Chevy will still be in need of a rear end swap before the show. We're getting the motor and trans done next weekend.. but I think I'm getting ahead of myself if I think that the rear end will be done by the 4th. Oh well. The show will still be great! :)

I will be there with one genuine off topic vehicle parked in the spectator parking lot. Look for it!

Side note, if there's a Hambr in mechanical distress that weekend shoot me a PM, I'm a couple miles from the fairgrounds with a decent wrenching setup. Might even be talked into a car trailer road trip to get ya home if circumstances permit.

Here's where to go if you have trouble near the event-

    Oreillys 2700 E university 515 265 6600
University is the road that borders the north edge of the fairgrounds. Oreillys is about 4 blocks west. Their regional warehouse is about a mile away, so if they're out of stock ask for directions to the warehouse for a customer pickup

    Advance auto 2519 Easton Blvd 515 265 5378
Keep going past Oreilly's west on University. Bout a mile down turn right/north on Hubbell. It's where AE Dairy has the fiberglass cows. Couple blocks up Hubbell turn right on easton, screwy intersection. Advance is right on the corner and is a hub store with 3X the stock of most stores. There's an autozone on the left side of Hubbell if you pass Easton Blvd.

    Napa Warehouse Store 2222 E Douglas Ave 515 265 6161
Again, west on University to 235 North (1 mileish)
North on 235 for 1 mile/2 exits, get off at Euclid. You want to go west/left on Euclid. Immediately across the interstate bridge are lights for Delaware Ave. Right/North on Delaware. The second right off Delaware is E Douglas Ave, and is more of a driveway than a road. Napa is the 3rd building back.

Repair shop- Next to the advance auto is a place called Van's. Scary neighborhood but Van's one of those quality old timers who understands that old cars need precise work too. I think he drives a 4 door 56 chevy everyday.

Junkyard- wrench/n/go 4100 Vandalia. 515 265 7509 Yeah they're late models but wrench and go is still the best bet if you gotta cobble something the parts stores don't have, and they're open sunday.
The road that borders the west edge of the fairgrounds is E 30th. If you follow E 30th south for one mile it turns east and becomes Vandalia. Welcome to des moines junkyard row. That smell you're wondering about is a combination of soy processing and animal rendering. Yum. Wrench n go's about a mile down vandalia. You're welcome to try the other yards but they're not worth a shit unless you need a clip to repair a late model wreck. Wrench n go OWNS the local do-it-yourself market for good reason.

    Hope nobody needs this!

It's hard to tell when I click the link
Are you talking about the Oval shaped building with lots of windows? (usually some kind of display/gallery going on there)
Or are you talking about the administration building on the main corner. Looks like an old plantation house with a covered porch wrapping around. Not trying to be picky but half the buildings there are brick with awnings. :D

Last year we met at the north porch of the porch-wrap-around building. SW corner of the main intersection in the middle of the fairgrounds.

Yes, that was my intention, the same place as last year.
Shifty, It's the Admin. building on the main corner that you are referring to - brick, "Plantation House" architecture with covered wrap-around porch.

I apologize - I can see how that Google map is a little confusing - the LARGE building near the center is actually the vendor display building.
We should be meeting at the smaller one to the east of it - Brown roof - U-shaped.

For people that have gone to this event before, what's their policy on coolers? We tend to pack a cooler full of food and beverages for the weekend. Can we bring it in?

All Good-Guys and NSRA events allow coolers.

Floging away on the (not casper) 61 falcon gasser, Car is white plate reads For Sale. See all there. Cal

  21. I'll be there, but I may have to drive the gas sippin' Honda. I don't think I can afford to drive my Chevy from Tx to DSM and back...

This will be my first meet and greet, can't wait to meet y'all.

  22. I'll be looking for everyone on Friday and then helping put the Midwest Deuce Club's "Deuce Doins" on Saturday. Look for me in the dark gray '32 pickup (if it makes it, I have a 100 miles on it so far!)

Megan and I plan on driving across I80 to get there. Is that highway or any bridges that we need to cross closed at any point because of the flooding. Also, has the water subsided any in DesMoines? Is it going to be a hassle getting around the city? yeah I got questions:D

It looks like you'll be just fine on I80: (besides a little road construction)

As far as Des Moines, maybe some locals can help us out?

    See ya soon, Denise! :D

Anywhere in DM that you're gonna want to go is open. You shouldn't have any problems. I-80 in Iowa is open. I don't know about anywhere East of there.

Jess your car looks great. Glad to see you and your sis are going to get it on the road. Seems like Malcolm said you were going to meet us here in Omaha Friday AM and travel with our crew. Look foward to it. Gary

Only problems you may have is if you're trying to hit the bars downtown, few of the streets are closed there. No biggie for the majority of residents.
