Is it about 9 to 12 inches high? If so, I think I've seen it before on some kind of thirties luxury car. It seems to me that there were two of them and they flanked the grille, mimicing it.

I think it is a horn grille. It goes on the front fender down under the H/L similar to the 36 Ford. One on each side of a high end car. I was thinking Packard but that's not it. 1935-39 era.

Looks like a Track T grille to me or even a grille for a vintage indy car!
If it is small, I think Tommy and cubed are right. Looks kind of plymouthy. (that's a technical term, ask my wife)

That would look "just right" on a homemade gas powered tether car. Here is one I built with some piece of an old car part (the end cap of some trim?) for the grille. Can anybody tell me what kind of car this came from? (don't mean to hi-jack your thread!) Thanks!

That would be an awesome cod piece. YOU should totally make one out of it. You could look like GWAR anytime you wanted.

I don't need QUITE that BIG of a cod piece, but thanks for the thought.
