Few drag cars were as nasty looking as the "street roadster" class racers of the 1960's. Nothing today even comes close to these, the altereds, gassers and A/FX cars of that decade.

the Dennis the Menace Prefect was converted into a street rod some where around the mid 70's. The backwards scoop on all GSTA gas dragsters was a club trademark. The late Ron Braun drove this car and the twin engined car

I work at a dragstrip and we found a number of boxes in storage full of pictures from the 60's. We'll try and scan 'em and get a bunch of 'em up. I know there are a lot of Garlits and Ivo, as we used to hold national events back then.

  23. Ha Ha. I can scan pics, but shrinking the JPEG small enough is driving me nuts.

Well, it's no Dragmaster. It's the Greer-Black-Prudhomme rail after it was sold to some cat in Reno. Sez "Kent Fuller" right thar on the side.

"Dragmaster Kerry" is called that because he's building a Dragmaster style rail...

  28. Picked up a couple of sticks of 1.5", one 11 ga and the other 10ga. DOM is EXPENSIVE!!!!! I also found some aluminum sheet for the body for cheap. Tomorrow after work the steel gets a ride to a friend in Wichita who's overseeing the bends and is doing the final tig welding after I get it tacked together.

The ultra bell showed up day before yesterday. The flexplate adapter will need some lathe time before it will work. :-/ The bell looks awesome though. Other than the torque converter and axles I have all the driveline.

HAMB drags 2009 here I come!
