For the record, mario Kaplan and his son are M.D.s not vets. I have purchased one 32 roadster from them and it was exactly as advertised. I have also had him to my business here in the states and had lunch with him and his wife. Good people. Sounds like a lot of hearsay going on from people who have not dealt with or met the man. Hearsay is nothing more than cheap gossip, stop saying things about people if you have not met them. I can say is my dealings with him were good.

    quote]

There was another guy who was bringing out cars and motorcycles. He was a Vet.He showed me some pictures of a long line of early Fords lined up.
My one rule of thumb is that when you are getting into serious money on vehicles;buy a ticket there. The best money you can WASTE is on a plane ticket. Its a lot cheaper than dropping a wad....
I was able to fly to Argentina for $810 R/T.Hotel was another $500-600.
Steaks and red wine were yummy!

Hi guys, i'm an Argentinian boy (y gallina tambien) but in these time i'm living in Italy. Sorry for my bad english.
In argentina are few old cars, the problem is that people who have a old car think they have gold and asked a lot of money for them, to find something in good condition and good price you have to look a lot and generally this cars not found on the Internet.

Hola Capochi.., que feo tu inglés hermano. Pero me alegro de que un compatriota esté acá en el foro.

Our country "was" a gold mine. Not anymore.., as Capochi says
few of the good things are left and people know what thats worth nowadays.

if I was at least 5 years older than I was 20/25 years ago ..............

    D.

Note: Until Peron (1945) I would say that more than 90% of the cars here were American imported, all brands and models. That was a wealthy time for the country and all of the good stuff was brought. Those are long gone..., mostly in the 80s all were exported for few $$. DAMN DAMN DAMN

Big country, lots of barns and sheds, plenty of farmland where things can sit for decades, right? Surely the exporters have made only the easy finds.
I remember reading about a Gaucho somewhere years ago; he and his friend had Model T's. His friend rolled his car, and ruined the body...bad news since he had a wife and kids to transport. The single gaucho gave his pal the body from his own Model T, and then strapped his horse saddle to the gastank of his chassis, a nice traditional touch.

Man, I would love to get my ass down to Argentina. I dated a couple of nice Argentinean gals. Beautiful women there, and cool as shit to boot! Hahah. As for cars, I wouldn't know, but I'm sure down in Central and South America there are plenty sitting and waiting. I have family in Honduras (although I'm cuban). Maybe I'll go take a look. ;) :D

Here in Miami there is a ski shop???. Well, come to find
out Floridians like to see snow in the winter time and the
wealthier ones head to argentina to ski in (our) summer.

So it's cold down there right now, Si?

This picture was on anouther site and taken in Argentina. Did the cars down there come factory with a filled roof? If they didn't this was an early modification and had some nice work done to it.

    Hey Moondog,

Dont know what you mean with "cool to boot", but yes, I have to admit girls here are gorgeous.

If you are Cuban, get your ass on Cuba instead of Honduras !! Though getting the cars out would be difficult.
Its amazing how that people keep running those old 50's cars.

At that time cars came here as they left factory in the US, local Ford and GM production didnt start until early 60s.

I believe that an Argentine Ford was made right here in NJ, Edgewater Ford plant.

  28. I wouldn't want anything by that jackass Che. He died exactly as he deserved, he was no "hero' as the T-shirted kiddies would have people believe! Hopefully, his motorcycle got crushed, wrecked, and completely destroyed years ago.

Changing gears, Cuba would be a great place to acquire US-built cars - IF you could even arrange for export! And, I would not restore it - I would keep it as-is, that is the best testament to the owner(s) that have had to put up with Castro's crap the last 50 years!
