The last time I saw "My Blue Heaven", the sectioned 1959 Ford was at the Goodguys event in Puyallup, WA around the early 2000's. Does anybody know where it is today? I have the little pages with that car on the cover, and would love to see it again. One of my favourite cars of all time. Any info is much appreciated.

The guy who restored it is out of the Portland Or area. OOP's Federal Way, wa.
I did see a magazine shot of it at a mid west event a month/two /three ago. No mention of current owners name though.
He had it at the Unfinished Nationals a couple of times a few years ago and really had to put a lot of work in it to get it back in what I would believe is better shape than it was to begin with. It would have been far easier to take a decent 59 Galaxy and build a clone.

The last time I saw it the car was capable of being driven anywhere at any time so it may been on a long road trip when the photo was taken.

The fella that restored the car and shows it is named Ron Sanders and he used to reside in Federal Way, WA but I have seen items lately that would locate him in the South East.

  5. Since your a Portland Guy you probably know Lonnie Gilbertson. Ask him, I believe he knows the guy personally. I also don't belive the car has Sold and is still Local here.

The last time I saw the car, it was totally restored. I do have pictures of it in blue primer also. I recall seeing the pictures of how he found it, it was in really sad shape.

That would be great if it is still local. I do know Lonnie, so I will get ahold of him. Thanks for the info.

My fading memory caused that error above. I had it in my mind that he lived in the Portland area because he had said he had been around the car years before when it was first shown.

My work schedule hasn't let me get to Good guys or many other runs in the past five years so I have been a bit out of the loop as far as where the NW cars have drifted off to.

I think it was the coverage of that GoodGuys show in GA that I had seen.

Well, wherever it is, it is good to hear that the owner is showing it still. I wish it was still here in the Pacific NW though, it spent its entire life here.

Well, I would have to guess that the owner lives down in that area now. Far too many sightings of it down there.

Yes, It is on the East side. In GG''s Gazette a few issues back. Still looks great. Last time I saw it, We parked next to it at the South Sound Theater parking lot Cruise in Tacoma on a Saturday night. Do they still do that? Or did they move it to Lakewood? B

Thanks Nine Inch and all who have replied. Does anyone know if the car has been featured anywhere since it's restoration. My memory is shot and I do not recall seeing it anywhere. If it has, can somebody let me know what magazine, year and a date? Much appreciated.

I seem to think that Custom Rodder did a feature about 4 or 5 years ago.... maybe Rod and Custom but I am pretty sure it was Custom Rodder.

That is by far the best '59 Ford that has ever existed. Awesome car...

It was at the 2007 Charlotte GoodGuys - also pictured in the Gazette show coverage. I also remember it from when it was new !:):)

Amazing to me that people will spend so much time and money restoring a car like that and then sell it. That is just me though, I know people sell their cars all of the time. Thanks again for all of the responses and the information.
