Damn Mazooma,I've had this photo on the garage wall
and been meaning to send it in here but you beat me
to it.Excellent shot of poetry in motion. This must have
been from a Beach movie of the early 60's.Just guessing.
Rails have not went to zoomies yet. Also guessing on the track ,Fontana,Irwindale or ??.

I'll take a guess at Pomona. They did a lot of the "beach" movies there. Also, that building in the background has the same pitch to the roof gable as that old building on the west side of the starting line in the older shots. The building I'm thinking of was off of the track property in the background of old pics. I'm sure someone on here will know.

  6. That would be the old packing house on D street, west of the strip. That and the old house just down the road are long gone, and have been a large industrial complex for about 15 years. The location is about 5 minutes from my house. I know it well.

    <Quote> Fuck reversers......that is a mean rail

    Royal Shifter........... I agree totally.

Push started, no starters, no reverser, aluminum clutch can with a hole drilled in the top to set the timing, single or dual disc clutch setup (direct drive or what we called hi-gear only), clutch pedal, go pedal, butterfly wheel, brake handle, chute release and oil pressure gauge, silver firesuit, silver mask with no breathers and your nuts against the rearend housing. Heads up run what ya brung drag racin'

What fun we had back in those days and I still have all my limbs, just a few battle scars.

BTW: Royal Shifter.......... Great Pix you have posted.........Thanks :D

    A couple of Jack's Auto Parts dual engine cars. 1961 & 1973
The 61 pic was taken at Caddo Mills and the 73 pic was at Green Valley by the fence next to the road behind the pits.

gotta love the old altereds with the crank centerline a foot above the spindles!

  27. That is a bitchin' Fiat!! Everything about it is perfect. The wheelbase, wheels, crank angle, it's how a Topolino should look. Boilin' the hides off, great pic, thanks for posting.
