Just bought these NOS electroline tail lights off of egay for my Model A. Not sure how rare they really are, but I liked them.
DLipp, you have any more info on that Teleoptic light? I picked one up, thought it might look good on my 35 Ford pickup.
Bluto has lost more cool stuff that I'll ever own. He's my hero. One day we are gonna meet up on the salt and I'm just gonna listen to the stories he has to tell. Doc.
It must be from the 20s. Cast aluminum combination tag, stop and running light. I have a small after market wig wag lamp not as sophisticated as that one. I just wags with the brake light.
It's good to see so many wonderful lights. Does anyone have a red lens for a Teleoptic? Mine is cracked pretty bad. AND thanks for the support my Dr's say there's hope
A couple older images I had saved from the net. Besnard tail light with magnifying lamps Lucas King of the Road tail light
So you're the one that sniped them at the end! I was bidding but didn't think they would go that high. I didnt want them anyways. I hope they smell like poop when you get them
Nother NOS tail lamp This one's Kerosine If you look in the backround you'll see a police spot light.
I have one of those, and evidence that the things have paranormal connections, not just wires! The story...I checked into the tiny little old car section of a huge local junkyard. Sitting there was a hopeless hulk of a Jeep station wagon, circa 1950, with a teleoptic screwed to its tailgate. Lens was broken, and there was evidence there that some idiot had just broken it in the yard after it survived 60 odd years...naturally, I bagged it, even though I was pretty sure I would never find a lens unless I spent big bucks for a complete light. A year later, Carlisle Swap Meet... I walked through an area I had already stripped of early Ford parts, and there was a vendor who had not been there before... Oddly, he had a big folding table with ONE object on it. Nothing else for sale. The object was a new lens for my light. Bought it, walked away chortling with glee. Looked back after I found some food, the guy was gone. Never saw him again. I checked carefully, and could not detect any smell of sulpher where he had been... Almost like the time I was walking through the secret back room at Joblot Automotive and a ridiculously rare part I needed fell from a top shelf and hit me!
Yeah, that was me, caught you sleepin' lol... I was hoping they wouldn't go that high! I don't really have the money right now, but I couldn't resist them!... Since you didn't want them. I'll send you a picture when I mount them on the Model A.
Me too. I wanted '40 Hudson taillights for my '36, as Jack Calori had used. Looked for them unsuccessfully for years. Finally went to the Carlyle swap meet and walked it for several days, asking Hudson guys for them to no avail. On my fourth day there I found a nice left one in a guy's stall, but he said he only had one. I walked across the aisle to another stall and found a right one! I've never seen another one for either side since.
A buddy of mine in Hesperia, California always has bad assed ,unusual tail lights on eBay all the time. His eBay name is savoycafe7ot0. He's always got awesome heaters also, including Hadees heaters...Mike
