My son who turned 16 this past May heard about a old Sedan from a friend. After weeks of tracking and a ton of phone calls he set down with the owner and struck a deal.

The owner is a local vet and it turns out he took this car in trade for payment due from a Oklahoma pig farner in 1964. The car has set in a pole barn sinse then just waiting for Samuel.

Having only been able to see the car from 100 yards or so we made our way through the gate to see it up close for the first time. Before us set a 1941 Tudor Sedan. The more I looked over the thing the better it got. Of course it was covered with dust, and the paint has seen better days, but over all it is a VERY solid car.

So Samuel asked the Doc how much and with a grin and wink in my direction the old guy asked if Samuel would be able to get it back on the road, to which Samuel gave a big yes. So the Doc asked for $500.00. At this point I feel in the floor.

We got it home and got to really looking at what we had. Back at the Docs I had noticed the cut out crossmember, and front type motor mounts and thought somebody had small blocked the ole girl somtime. But it still has the top loader tranny in place. Then walking around the car I spotted the remains of the crager adaptor sticker!

The interior gives clues as well, black and white with silver pipeing, and rolls on the doors.

Into the truck and there it was the tranny adaptor! Along with a bucket of tranny parts, and a single see-thur red spark plug wire! Oh and a '64 calender.

He definitly got this hands on a real deal old school Hot Rod! And I couldn't be happier for him.

Adapter looks to be chevy. Might save a lot of work if it had one before.

Wow does that bring back memories. I had one very much like that. It had an Olds in it Mine had an Honest Charlie decal in the same spot as yours and I had to take a picture of it too. Box the cross member and find a nice running small block for that adapter. I love the interior!

Great score and a terrific father/Son project!
Looks like she'll go together w/o a ton of PITA tough bodywork.

I'm sure a 41 sedan is not your Son's dream car, but it's cheap and will provide practical experience.
He'll always get his money++ out of it later on a trade-up, or attend runs with it while he collects parts for his next project.
At 16, I'll bet he's already noticed how big the back seat area is in that 41 too!!!

    GREAT SCORE!
I know how he feels. at 14 (1994) I got similar deal on a 32 sport coupe body and frame. I couldn't get the $500 bucks in lawn/grunt work money out of my pocket fast enough. bringing that first car home was better than .... well you know ;)

HAHAHAHAHHA....I don't know about the best, but thats really cool of you to say!
I wanted a 41 business coupe since I was 15 or 16 (I'm 27 now) and never found one. I stumbled across this really clean sedan and fell in love with it. It had no engine, tranny, glass or interior...but it was strait and pretty rust free. I fixed it up pretty cheap, got some old 40's seat covers from Ebay and recovered them myself, had glass cut and installed it myself, Built a 59AB for it and scrounged a 50.00 stock side loader trans. I lowered it about 6" all the way around.
These are great cars, your son will LOVE his. Looks like a killer score!!!! I have boat loads of 41 parts, if you find that you need something, PM me!!!!!!

Let me know if I can help with the front crossmember, I've got one from a 46 don't know if it will work, but it should be similiar anyway.

Make sure that he understands hard work and determination (weeks of tracking and a ton of phone calls), combined with some luck, can pay off in the end.

Good on both of you and the Doc.

Nice find for you and your son. I had a 41 ford when I was sixteen and will never forget how good it was to drive it. Hope you have fun doing the car with your son.
