I'll be there in the Galaxie again - just got done putting a 302/5-speed in it, so we'll see how it does! (Thanks to Jim Marlett for the photo) Malcolm
hopefully I will make it there this year. Sure i am heading down with louver_dude and the rest of the guys from wisconsin. I am sure we will be part of security at the hotel
Same old reliable Model A... I think I stole this pic from the also reliable Jim Marlett.... See you in August, -Abone.
I'll be there with my new 3w...and I would really appreciate Ryan posting a guard around the vehicle, with its $35,000 fauxtina paint job...
I remember this car, seen it in my rear view mirror Now that it has that bad ass sounding small block and 5 speed I'll maybe try to avoid him this year. Gary
I'll talk to the tech dude about your concearns so he can give you a "real" tech inspection this year. Nawww. I don't have it in me to do that to you. Sure would be fun to watch you though. ;-)
I wanted to go, but it would cost me a minimum of $1k to make the trip and I just don't have it right now.
Todd if that's your baby pic in the avatar you haven't changed a bit over the years. Looks just like ya!
Group: We will have both Scorpion 1 and V in attendance. We will be firing up #5 several times and will be looking for folks to set in the seat. We will need a $ contribution for nitro as we are running out and it's almost impossable to get more at this time. We fire it on 95% and it sounds good, just ask Dinese. dwrfab Don Ross
Hell man, I didn't know. I've never been to this before. I thought I read the rules but didn't see how the races are run. I agree bracket racing wouldn't be traditional but Index, lbs per ci, as well as heads up would be. I expect my 14 sec slug would be easy pickens in a heads up race against what I have seen some consider a street car. Can you give me some insight on how are the races run? Is it a grudge type where you pair yourselves up with no elimination and no time. (just a fun day) or is there an elimination? Please don't be hateful they are just questions from someone who hasn't been there and doesn't know. Tad
See the smiley? He's just pulling your chain. Yes, after a full day of running there are eliminations and each class has a "winner".
Another wanting to know the tech rules. I may come to race if I dont have to spend a week making my car meet nhra tech.
Here is your tech rules http://www.mokandragway.com/rules/ Go to this site on the HAMB for more information on the drags. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=60&f=41 John
Between moving all my toys and parts from Lubbock to Springtown and trying to get a new business off the ground, the drags just arent in the budget. Last year was my first time and I left looking forward to making it again this year. I do however have a newly acquired 401 nailhead with a fresh rebuild (may have to disguise the sp 400 since it doesnt fit the true trad theme) but I'll have to find something else to put it in since I had to sell the 52 chevy 2 dr roller to help finance the move. Uh, anyone want to vote to include my 66 v-8 corvair in the traditional catagory?
Damn I knew there was a reason I loved ya. But if I do this ass kick thing are you gonna fight back? Oh, you ment anyone but you didn't ya? I wanna get a look at the new threads. I know you've posted pics but they never do fat luck justis.
Looks like old home week!!! A lot of these guys were at the first hamb drags. Looking forward to seeing 'ya all again this year. Any body going to the Springfield swapmeet??? We will be there Friday all day and in Joplin Friday night for the PARTY!! Hope to bring the big 'ol black Galaxie. Stop and say howdy if you see me.
