Well.....This is a Hot rod and custom board, but many of us are here because we have a great sense of history and personally I think its a shame to destroy such a nice original vehicle that will never be made again when theres so many parts and pieces and other cars to butcher up into whatever form you like.
    Thats just me.

...oh...for the love of chryslers...these old cars WANT to be driven. They really don't care what is done to them...they just want to feel young again.

    do it , Danny...make it better. :)

I see both sides but with the talent of these guys you could start with a hell of a lot less and end up with the same results. Salvage one and preserve another. Oh well, I'm sure he could bolt it all back together if he ever wants to drive a ill handling, underpowered antique.

    I'm such a fence-sitter.

I say do it. It's not as though you're going to hack it up like some builds on here. You're just bringing it into the 21st century.......Mike

Sell off all the unwanted weight........install engine 12''+ back into the firewall, build killer frame as you always do.........and it will be reborn into what it should have been all along a...HotRod.....I would love to cut it myself.............Have fun with it, Littleman......purist restore them so one day I can cut them up.

I see both sides of save it and cut it. We all have our own ideas and what we would like but we can't own em all

VIOLATE the shit out of it! Do it. This could turn out to be some real art in short order.

I guess that's what make's the world go 'round..
The one and only thing that make's it easier for me to grasp is that the ride's i've seen you post on here you've built are super nice, so i honestly feel that this one will be no different.
Certainly not something i'd consider doing to it though, to me it's plain stupid, but it's also not one i could ever afford to own anyway so my opinion don't mean shit either way. :)

Why not just call Brookville, and save this great car for a more traditional build? It's a shame:(

Great start for what your doing....doesn't really matter what people on here think......keep us posted. The people that will enjoy it.....well.....they'll enjoy it. The haters......well......they will hate!

Best of luck on your build.

couldn't he have just sold it and bought a steel repo body from SAR? I know the customer is always right, but this is tough to watch. I know you guys will do a top notch car no matter what you start with.

  22. You know....if I didn't have to stuff around repairing every panel of a butchered old race car just to be able to build the roadster I want to, I'd be a hell of a lot further along to DRIVING my car than where it is now......what you've got there is FREEDOM.

    Good luck.

the only changes we are doing to the body is part of the firewall and floor.

there is no way that i would build this car from a glass body.
