49 Plymouth. My neighbors had a grey one for years. Solid, smell like old mohair, and really slow. Nice bumpers.

thats not the most common body style, I like it. It would make a neat custom.

i kinda thought so too..dont think a chop would work though,, but lowering it and throwing a motor in it for fun and just roll it like it is wouldnt be too bad either..

Wow, I was just thinking the opposite. I can see it low with some rear taper,
while bringing the trunk forward for ready made extended fenders. Good thing it's not mine, cause it really is a peach!

im having no luck running into the owner..im wondering if the house was taken by the bank and they walked awayfrom it(alot of that going on up here)..there are 3 other cars sitting there, none of them look like they run or have been driven in quite some time..newer models i could care less about.

I had a '50 Ply like that, had different taillights. I'd guess thats a '49. Has the '49 style grille too. I was getting 30mpg with that flat 218 six.
It's cool, and needs to be yours! Maybe 2000-2500 bucks?

Oh yeah, the fastbacks were factory chopped already, about 2 inches lower than a sedan, if I recall correctly. That means windshield trim, etc is special to that car.

    here's a '50

2,000? Lordy, I'd think 500 bucks would be plenty. It's only cool 'cause it's SOOOO fugly. Since you have the 440, I can see it with some pie crust slicks sticking out of opened up rear fenders, a straight axle, astros all around, and wild fenderwell headers. It'd out-ugly the original Ram Chargers car!

I know what you mean about people walking away from places here (I'm near Ka-zoo). Had it happen right next door, the kids moved out at Christmas time, left all the doors open, didn't drain anything, and left a chest type freezer in the yard, which I discovered later (in June) that was full of meat. EEEWWWW....

I saw one 15 years ago, the owner (full of poop) said it was rare, worth money, all the custom guys wanted them, blah blah blah. I haven't seen another since, until 2 months ago, found a super clean on in a hay barn. Might try to snag it, would go good with my aerosedan Chevy. If you have the room/$$, I would try to get it, Fink. I kinda like 'em.

I don't think chopping it is out of the question, it does look good as is. And chopping a fast back is a lot of work to do right. and if I did chop it, I'd only go a couple of inches....

  23. There is a decent running, driving one with title right near me. It baby blue, with wide whites and he only wants $3k for it, so I would say $2K is being generous. I would think $1K personally.

    But I am cheap.

I almost bought a 48 4 door like that for $600 when I was 16 years old (mid 80s). I thought the suicide doors were the coolest thing I ever saw. I have always wondered if that car survived.

I think $2000 is a good deal, what else can you get from that time for that money in decent shape like that one?
