Looks like I am going to have to wait on the early spoke rim set up. So I was wondering what is the most sought after eary ford rim? Or was is the most traditionaly correct?

16 inch, bent spoke Kelsey Hayes are very sought after.

  3. 16" x 3 1/2" solid V8 60 wheel.

  4. The early solid/steelies like Kiwi Kev said, as well as the '32 18" spokes. Those things look bad*** in my opinion and I hate spokes

Are you asking about wheels or just the rims?

those Divco rims bring serious money... Don't know if they are ford, but the ones I've seen have the early ford pattern!

I think that it was "Loudpedal's" or "saltflataddicts" roadster p/u (slash) modified that had some Brazil Ford wheels on it that he sorta' had an issue with doing a turn. This was the same car that gave "Jimmy Shine" a bit a hot shower. I will look for a pix.

The 37-39 Ford 18" wheels. Looks like the regular "wide" bolt pattern ford, but 18". Cam on some divcos....Regular divcos are just as rare. We need Bobby Green on this thread ;)

That is a nice wheel. Would that whell mount to a Ford 9 inch with the same bolt pattern?

  14. In this part of the world, the 47-48 Mercury 15" wheels are getting hard to find.

For me it's the elusive 18" x 4" Wide Five 1937-1939 Accessory wheel. Every time I ask around for them I get "Ford never made them".

Mmmmm...they did come on Divcos, as well as many other utility things. Also an option for high clearance. Sorry if that cramped your style :D

MMMMM...don't think so. Divcos did not have the Ford 5.5 bolt circle. Many other vehicles did, and even some milk trucks probably. But those wheels did not come on actual Divco brand trucks.

To convince me otherwise, you are gonna have to show me a picture.

Yes, either 36 or 40 spoke. Hard to tell laying on the ground. Put a 36 next to 40 and it becomes very clear to see the difference.

40 spokes are bringing nice paper these days...

  24. I'd say 16 x 3.5 v8-60 wheels would be the rarest.

They made different 16 x 4 wheels... some oave a 90 degree edge on the drop center and some are angled. All of the '40 Fords I have seen that still had thier stock wheels had the 90 degree drop centers.

Thier are both types in Chris' first picture.

Another thing about the '40 wheels is that the lug holes are flat around the countersink. The "other" 4" 16's are raised up.

Every one I ask about the 18" '37-'39 Wheels never has an idea of what I am talking about. Is there a name for them that may help my search/quest for them. I really would like to track down a pair for my coupe.

This is my **** pile, the better stuff is inside.

I would have to agree that the 16 X 3.5 is the rarest.

  30. What about the 16" pickup 5" wide, heavy duty, wide 5 artillery wheel. So far no one here has mentioned them, were used a lot on early track type T's due to their extra strength and width. They may not be rare in the US but I've only ever seen a pair of them over here.

    cheers

    Bob
