  1. Not a tree, it's a big-assed tumbleweed.:p

If you think that's big, you ought to see the tumbleweeds in the Texas Dez....:D

  2. Taken at Shades of the Past, 2006. I think the car owner is on here..

lighten up francis ! and get out hemi 32 and have some one take a picture
of you doing a burn out :)

  4. "The only criticism I have of Mr 42's photo, is that there's no person driving the roadster ... the photo would have been much better if we saw the back of a driver's head! ... oh well, like he said, he was taking it for a test drive ..."

Here's one rolling down the highway.

There's a driver in there somewhere....

This one's a winner for me. Everything brings the eye to the car and you can just "get into" the car with'em. Oh, shit, he broke the rules on no Photoshop.
    Bummer. No book for you!

Careful ... stirring up crap is supposed to be my job ;) (though it was never my intention).

Anyway, I totally concur with every one of your points ... including the sentence I highlighted in bold blue font ... I was gonna mention that in my rant post(s) ... but thought it was a bit counter to the point(s) I was trying to make about this thread being a photography contest.

... and btw, I wasn't referring to "nowaxn5's photo of the '62 Galaxie parked on the fall leaves" when I was ranting about trees or telephone pole "growing" out of roofs/hoods ... there's a few other "submissions" with an (in focus) object sticking out the hood or roof of the car ... and IMHO, really make an otherwise great photo just a mediocre photo.

Also ... I got an A+ in my high school Photography 101 class :) ... I think I even passed all my college Photography classes with flying colors ... but chose a different career (I'm a software engineer for a DoD contractor) cuz' no one would buy my "break no rules" photos! :D

Now ... let's stop ranting .. and get back to looking at cool (dare I say) photographs of Traditional Rods & Customs in interesting places!

Out of respect for the "rules" I changed my photo. I didn't want to add a new one as that would break the rules. :D

A couple of shots taken by my son on the trip we took to Pleasanton CA a couple years ago, one through the mirror at speed, hence the flip of the image.

My submission. This was taken on a cool October day last fall. Sun was starting to set. The best part is I was needed to burn up some vacation and took a Friday and just went out for a cruise and put a few hundred miles on the car. I ended up capturing a few neat photo's of the car that day. I like this one with the variation in color of brick and the random missing windows. Can't see it in the photo but the wheels on the other side of the car were covered in mud when I got stuck in rain soaked grass trying to get a picture in another area.

  28. Which one of you is going to tell us the rest of the story of those two pics?
