Tony, that setup really looks sharp! Sorta makes me wish I hadn't sold it! But I think the new Edelbrock setup I bought with a 2-4bbl Endurashine manifold and 2 shiny finish Edelbock carbs is gonna look good also, we'll see. Those valve covers look just like the ones I bought from a HAMB member. Since there is no provision for an oil fill tube on my airgap manifold, I gotta put an oil fill on one of the valve covers. I plan to use a pvc system similar to yours and use my Bridgeport mill to cut a flat spot to install one of the oil cap assembly setups Speedway sells with the screw on cap.
Dunno what kinda spider that was, are you exaggerating or was it really that big? The spider around here that is bad news is the brown recluse, which is much smaller.
Keep an eye on the bite mark and if you see any inflammation at all get to the doctor.
Duane, the linkage on that setup I sold Tony is progressive, and IIRC, can be set to open the end carbs at several different rates with a series of holes in the arm on primary carb, I just set it so that the end carbs and the center would all reach full throttle at the same time, Don't recall how far open center carb was when end carbs started to open, but it is adjustable.

  3. Dave,
I have been bit by most of God's creations :D I know this was a Wolf Spider and yes it was the size of a small Tarantula. I don't know what you guys are feeding these things down here. I've been to the doc for black widows a couple of times - maybe I'm tasty or just an ass, I don't know. Its ok now :).

I drove the car to work and back, I think the way its running right now is great for gas mileage. I could be wrong, but its running only on the center until its full open, then the 2 outers start to open. It is real smooth when running on the center and even smooth when opening the outers. I can feel from the pedal the outers are harder to push open - but it hauls ice!

My only spot that needs work is the off idle flat spot and the sitting at a stop light idle is so - so. Sounds like a bad plug wire, about every 5 seconds it misses, kinda shakes the engine.

So I need to read the Tech archive and get more squirt off idle and then its as good as my Edelbrock 500. Now if I went to the 1/4 mile today, I'd say its not running as fast as my Edelbrock, but its not a drag car and it scoots around town, and that's what I need. Just need to get out and get some Glue Traps!

Strombergs97 - I'm going to try that. I know its way past 1/3 now. I had to hook my vacuum advance to manifold vacuum or it would just die when I put it in gear. Seems ok that way.

    Thanks
    Tony
