Sycamore, IL Car Cruise and Show

Anybody going? I probably won't make it to the cruise but I'll be there for the show on Sunday. It'd be cool to meet some HAMBer's there.

 

I'll be there in the '36. We may have a booth too. Not sure yet.

 

It looks like me and stick shift might be there on Sunday!

 

Which show might this be? Former DeKalb-er / NIUer. Gary

It's the yearly show right on 64 and the entire downtown area. I'd point you to a webpage if there was one that gave any information.

The car guys get there as early as 5am, that's nuts. I think that is to try and get a spot on Main. I've heard unofficially that the show is 8-4. I just called Hinks and they have a registration booth out front of their place for bikes. They told me 9:30 or 10 would be a good time for that. My car is still a work in progress so I'll probably show my Harley. It's the Blue and White 1960. I'll look for you guys.

Sorry I can't be there... left DeKalb about Sep 79 for the Navy... been back a few times visiting townie friends (still have an old flame who works in Sycamore, even.). I remeber hearing about a Fizz Ehrler Memorial show, too, but never made that one either. Fizz, isn't that a great handle for a guy who owns a radiator / exhaust shop!?!?!? He used to fab up my Fiat exhausts when I was in college at NIU. Have one for me, boys! Gary

I'm still getting mine done, so I'll be on foot as well. I'll look around for people tho... I'll probably be the only guy there with a wife and sissy dog (white ****apoo), so look for me!

 

Valkokir- Where'd you find that '28? She looks pretty rough, but I'm sure she'll turn out great! You working on it around here? I'll look for your Harley, but yell at any kid you see walking past with a sissy dog, it might be me.

 

Might try to make it down also.

It's about a two hour drive for us, so we might get the '40 Willys pickup out. That's about as far as I can drive it in one sitting! Stop and say hey if you see us.

Craigslist Detroit. It's half here and half in Detroit. I am going to finish the rolling running ch***is in Detroit (better Equipment at Dad's) and then do the body here. I need to post progress pics of the frame.

 

I'll be there. Probably in the 59. Got the 348 in and runnin pretty good. Kinda loud though.

 

So, what did ya' guys that went think of the show? I thought it was awesome, lots of great cars and people, and I even got to meet a few fellow HAMB'ers (missed the meeting though). I am honored to say that I won the fizz pick award, and I couldnt believe it at first, I thought I was hearing things or somethin. Its nice to know that he was into the traditional stuff, and I give lots of props to the guy for what he has done, even though I was never able to meet him. All in all great, people, cars, bikes, customs, muscle cars etc. It keeps getting better and better every year!

 

...I was there all day, had a great time, HAMB meet was small but interesting,...ran into a lot of friends,...saw a lot a nice cars, really liked the HAMB style cars that showed. Did you hear how many cars showed this year?....and where was Andy this year, I never saw him or his car.

I dont know where andy was, I will probobly see him this week sometime. I will be sure to ask. He is a busy guy though so i cant blame him. Woulda been sweet if he had brought his coupe with the hemi.... I LOVE THAT CAR!

 

Hey racer190 your truck is kool, but I think I told you that a couple of times with Jeff. Congrats on it getting picked, thats way cool.
