  8. Looks cool. But I think you are going to have troubles with the front spring mounted to hairpins like you have them. When the suspension is working it will be twisting the hairpins. The front steering and suspension is going to feel mushy.

Never seen it done and I think it is really un-safe.

  9. Also you have the hairpin mounted in single sheer and really, really to far of the frame. They are most likely going to fail or just plain old rip off.

Neat car, but I agree those hair pins are waaay to far away from the frame. In a perfect world they would meet at the vehicle centerline, just like Henry designed. Since we split the bones, or hair pins, you want them as close to the frame as possible. That tube holding the hairpin bolt is going to have MASSIVE stress in it.
I can't make out the front axle attachment but there was a post a month or so ago about the subject of mounts welded to bones breaking.

  12. That's a sweet looking ride. Can I ask where you got your quick change?

  13. diggin it...I agree on the wishbones being too far away...gonna be badass when it's done...though I don't advise running the bias plywood on the front

I am with jrblack30 on your front end and I dont even like the front spring mount to the hairpins. There is going to be a lot going on in that suspension that could let go.

Regarding the front tires. Are they made by Firewood, Woodyear or Oakohama? Do you decide when to replace them by counting the remaining rings instead of looking at wear indicators. By the way, very nice car

  19. so yer the sumb!tch that stole the wheels off my chariot then?... i want them back.

J/K... interesting ride... kind of a modified meets a vicky looking thang... and i dig the tri-power. is that going to be the final roof height?

I suggest to redesign the rear suspension ....
Search on here for binding suspension

  27. I think that you cannot do what you are thinking with radius rods. Best bet is leave the axle where it is and find and use some Ford radius rods. They are strong enough to run a set up simular to what you are doing.

I am not trying to rip your design apart. I like radius rods and suicide suspensions, just not the way you have yours set up now. Run Radius rods and mount the spring to them, a lot of guys are doing it that way.

For the rear end comment someone posted. You will see some binding. To fix that just use articulating spring hangers, Posies has them I think.

Fancy spring hangers won't fix the bind
caused by parallel split bones on back.
