I was just out in California visiting my buddy Davey Shuten who is restoring the Orbitron. In the old pictures you can see a logo printed on the spinners of the wheels with a crossed flag pattern. Everything on the car is being painstakingly put back just the way it was and he needs to find a good pic to re-print the logo on the spinners.

    Thanks in advance!

PS, I changed the name of the post to a topic someone would actually read.

That's a big 10-4 buddy. There aren't a whole lot of Orbitron pics out there and only one of them showed the logo and it was an unreleased photo that was purchased from Pat Ganahl. The logo on it is really fuzzy but Moriarity found an ad in an old hot rod magazine that had the same logo on one of the spinners. The quality of the print wasn't good on it either. I don't have the access to scan either pic but any of the old ASTRO wheels and spinners should have had the same logo.

An interesting fact, I crawled around underneath the Orbitron and you can see from the inside where Ed originally tried to install the "Pods" that were in the original illustration only to hack them off. He must have figured out that it was too hard to get into the car with them on there and removed them.

by the way changing the title worked. You all looked at it. Ha ha ha

  10. RADIR has crossed flags ...

    did radir ever make slots?

  11. In the magazine I have that has it on the cover,it says that they are Cal Custom-style two-bar spinners. No close-ups though. If it's the ones i'm thinking about,I have one! I'll have to dig through my garage. If I find it,i'll bring it to you guys.

  12. It's not thr Radir one. The one I think your looking for has two flags that cross. Similar to Corvette flags, but they are square flags, not the "waving" flags.

  22. The one I have has flags like H ,but a two-bar just like the old Cragar two-bars.

  23. I dunno! Lotta chrome on your Coupe, ha ha ha!!!

  24. The crossed flag theme is a "daytona " style in my 59 almqusit catalog they show a wheel cover with them too...

Look for the daytona two bar knock off
i'll bet they were in every type of magazine even jc whitney

how does the knock off bolt to the lug cover ?
I did a simular thing in the eighties using keystone sunspoke basket lug covers center hub with a 3 bar knock off... It all bolted to the center cap

now finding nos set thats the challenge ...
Maybe sports car nuts or the "vette "set may help

That is correct Bob, that is the logo that he is looking for. Squarish flags.

They had 4 new spinners recast from the one original one that was left on the car so they aren't looking for NOS ones, just the logo to reprint on the spinner.

Yeah, I think the chrome bill is over 30 grand so far. Insane. The car is definitely in the right hands for the restoration. I don't think any one else could afford the bill. ha ha ha
