Aug 1st, 2008 All day event (noon-10 pm)

    Cruise and show.

Just looking to see who is going to be at the event from the HAMB. I have that day off, I will be there but without the 49 since the wiring isnt getting completed. Im bummed because it was my deadline but things happen that I can't control.

Sound off if you'll be there and we can set a up a meeting place and time.

Nice to finally put some faces to the names

I'll be there. Grew up (7th grade to 12th grade) in Monmouth. I go back for the show whenever I can. No car, just me. When I was there a couple of years ago it was a good get togeather.

Better be nice down there, my nephew is the High Sheriff there.

The local cops will give ya a ticket for farting too loud, same for the cops over in Galesburg.

Both look good in my rear view mirror.

I won't be there this year but attend if you can! That Friday night cruise in Monmouth is sorta unofficially part of the Fred Gibb show which is the following Saturday (2nd) about 30 miles from there in LaHarpe. The cruise in Monmouth is huge with over 1000 cars and the Fred Gibb show is not huge but has awesome content. If you like rare high dollar 60's-70's Chevrolet Muscle (ZL, Z-16's, COPO, etc.) it's definitely worth checking it out.

A funny side note is my buddy has a sweet little 40-somthing Chevy Pickup that he probably has 8-10 grand in. He went to Fred Gibb's widow and asked her if he could letter the side of his truck with Fred's dealership name. She agreed and she loved it when he showed it to her. Anyways when he drove into the show that year, the registration folks had him park up in front of the "tents". The "tents" are where the super rare high dollar stuff parks.. he was kinda laughing about it. But when I gave him a high resolution picture of his truck in front of the "tents", it wound up being a 17x20-something picture in his shop!:p

I'll be there, hopefully with the "Exxon Valdez". Hope to get there early afternoon. I'll be parking at the far North end if possible, it's closer to home for a "fast get away". Just look for the pea green Studebaker with grey primer spots all over it and a puddle of Castrol 20W-50 underneath.;)

TudorJeff, saw your buddy's truck at the Gibb show last year, one of my favorites in the whole place!

I was there for the first one. I had the HellRaiser there. Down south main, around the square, and west on Broadway. It was a big turn out then. I know, it's gotten bigger each year.

Biggest thing there, and even back in the late 50's is the Pizza place there. Even a small has got to weigh 2 pounds. The hot spot on Friday nights after the football games

JP, I went to Lincoln grade school back in the early 50's. Went sledding at the college in the winter. Probably before your time. Zippers were always good in basketball though.

Yep, the cars come out of the woodwork (sheds) for that Friday bash. Old, New, Custom or Stock, something for everyone.

Cool! Roger is great guy. He's not on the HAMB but he's 100% traditional and fits in here better than probably 30,000 of the folks that are in here. (That truck used to be a long bed by the way.) -Jeff

ok well lets figure something out like meeting in the square at 6:00 PM or something in case you have to work and then have a min to get there. I am open to time changes also. If you will be there with your vehicle post a pic so I know the HAMB ones prior to walking the LONG line of cars..

Anybody going South on US 67 out of the Quad Cities wil go right past my house. If I haven't left for Monmouth it will be out front or in the backyard and will be easy to spot from the road as I have a big empty lot on the North side of me. Have to swap out the turn signal switch and harness if it gets here in time, run to Aledo for gas and then get it cleaned up in the AM.

    I'll be wearing my "Littleman's Speed & Fabrication" t-shirt. Here's a "pre-primer" shot of the Exxon Valdez............

My mom taught at Wilson, but my wife went to Lincoln in the 80's. Town never changes, I loved growing up there.

I can't wait to see all the cars. It is a big turn out.
