Surely liked seeing it run at HRR. And also loved the dedication with the jets.

    See you guys hopefully soon

Great to see you guys again. The truck looked and sounded great.

I got my best ET to date out of my car. Suprising, given the heat. My reaction times are horrid though! :D

I am fabbing up some real quick headers to see if it will buy me a little HP gain and a better time slip at the track verses what was on it.......I had some J-bends that were for the Divco but have since decided to run the stock manifolds on the Chevy 409 instead.....and since I cannot afford to do the cam change I want to do......decided to look for a gain w/ the J-bends that I had in a box...........Its a good exercise to do anyway....I bell tipped the ends for a older feel....I do not think they killed the look of the Truck....I still have to make three more tubes on the other side and finish weld them both........Littleman...these are nothing special but only a experiment and made out of what I had available...

Thanks.......I really like making headers...like I said ,I am kinda making these up quick so they are not much to look at....and will end up painting them white.........just hoping to improve the time slip at the track in the end....if not I will just hang them on the wall or make them longer and try again.........Littleman

  9. They look good and I am sure it will sound even meaner....how did you end up putting the bell in? Home run bound?......Don

Did the finish welding late last night...fired it up today w/ the new pipes.....amazing what a different header design will sound like...sounds real mean....but am hoping for a better time slip at the DragStrip in the end...if not its been good practice......still have to paint them...Littleman

Just back from the Thompson DragStrip........no big gains or losses with the new headers......It ran 11.40's all night very consistant......It is running richer just by doing the header switch. And the track was real greasy about 300' out it was like skating on ice.......So their could be a big improvment yet....Running on a local Wensday night program really does not give me the time to change jets not to mention a poor non prepped track...so that will have to wait until next time soon.......Everyone their that knows the Truck all thought I put in a hotter engine or swapped to a full race cam based on how they all last heard it...The new headers really make it sound like the 12 to 1 compression that it is..I am going to have to build a new set of headers for DeathsDoorStep now....I am going to have to start wearing ear plugs for the top end now...freakin loud now...Its way too loud for the street finally.......Its cool to build something in a few nights even something as small as headers and go test......Thats what its all about...I painted the headers white...the paint dryed on the way to the track for real....Littleman...I forgot to add...I have noticed for a while now...The Tuner kids at the track stay away from my Truck in the staging lanes....They all look away when I drive up...I find that funny...

Is it Dragway 42 that you went to, or is there another track closer to you?

You're a maniac. A brilliantly evil maniacal genius. I can't wait for my season to slow a little so I can groupie around and get a glimpse of that thing in action.

I have glanced over them a couple times but they fit so well, I couldn't remember what you used to have on there. 10-fold better in the looks department.

The primaries close enough that you could use a slip fit collector and muffler on the street, then swap for the track? Or are you pretty much over street cruising that beast?

I bell tipped the tube ends so slip on collectors will not work anymore...I do have them thou...Yes It will not be driven anymore on the street until I rebuild the 327 that I took out and put it back in....I took it out a couple of weeks ago or so and drove it to our local target store only to come out and see a cop car parked behind me blocking me in..He asked me to start it up...I said do not stand their.. and seconds after yelled to me to shut it off and asked me what the hell are you doing....I told him shopping....he asked where do I live...and gave me the route that I was to take home and to keep it off the street...son..And its even louder now...He did not even mention the slicks.......Its alot easier to drive say a wicked fast Chevelle ect. on the street and get away with it....The Truck just attracts too much attention with the local fuzz even when I am going thru mufflers...Thats been proven also.....Littleman

Those white headers look tits- I wish I had header fabrication skills like you do Mr. Littleman...someday...

  22. Thompson Dragway is much closer to us than 42, which aint to far from us. We also have Summit Racing's complex, formerly called Norwalk Raceway, and a couple others within a 2 hour drive!

I guess I was imagining the tips trading for a collector and muffler, simply because I'm a street car guy. I can see the dilemma though.
That truck... draw attention? No way!

You can make them!!!....no voodoo needed......just some j-bends and a fine line sharpie and a bandsaw or you can use a chop saw..........Dive in and make the first cut.......I did not spend alot of time on this set..atleast not the amount of time that I would normally spend...to me these are not that great but functional which is what I was after ...I rushed them to make the DragStrip on Wensday night to give them a try......Once you make that first cut and hold that part up to the flange it will help you visualize where they need to go....Once you conquer your first set you are empowered to do anything....Littleman...hell I remember my first set...still have them in the basement....had the chop saw at my side and remember all the cut up j-bends laying all around me like dead body's...and remember having to make that call to order more bends to finish the job because I slaughtered most of the bends...but by time I got around to doing the other side I was much wiser!...My first set was a difficult set for a first timer to do...

Dam Littleman, that is one hell of a truck!!! I followed the "Deaths door step" build up and was inspired by your work then. Now you pull this one out of your hat!!!! What a wicked looking ride!!! Your fab skills are insane!! Thanks for the continuing inspiration....

I built in some added safety in case one of the front tie rod ends decides to fail.....The Truck has passed NHRA tech, and the tech guy thought the big tie rod ends where stronger than most of the rod ends in most race cars......bottom line thou...I had no built in safety hoops like standard ladder bar system of today....that catches the front of the bar so it does not dig into the track and launch you.....Yes, it passed tech but that does not make it right.....so I fabbed up these hoops real quick today in preparation for the GoodGuys DragRace this coming weekend at Norwalk, Ohio.......Littleman

My god. You are going to be 5 minutes from me thrashing on that thing and I'm driving to epping for a boring race with cookie-cutter cars. Kinda pissed.

Love the added safety man, that's one of those things that puts your mind at ease no matter how many times that thing has seen a durometer or had the rosettes counted! Looks bitchin' too!
