    Very cool, Denise.

I waited three years for rear wheel well trim for my 1959 Buick.

    I know the feeling !!

Denise, it doesn't surprise me that you finally got your last piece of trim. "Good things happen to those who wait" or " Great things happen to great folks" or your guardian angel decided you have waited long enough and just lent a hand. I'm really happy for you. Now "Big Olds" is whole.

Congratulations! Always nice to finally find the missing piece of the puzzel. Now do an eBay search and see how many of those trim pieces turn up this month.

Very kool. Glad to hear you got it finally. I remember you mentioning about that piece at the Rust Revival. In fact I looked at a 48 Ford convert last night and thought of you and our conversation. lol (no the convert was not for sale)

You guys' replies just crack me up. Some had me laughing out loud.

OK, now that I have the piece I can fill you in on something that has been top secret since this past Feb.

Well last winter I walked into Earl Schieb's shop to spend the weekend working on Big Olds. I walked over to BO and kinda draped across the upper portion of the passenger door was a blanket which I then removed and then gave out a gasp! Oh my GOD! Mike had found and installed the door trim piece and didn't tell me. I started questioning him about it and he was laughing, and then told me to look closer. He finally had to point out to me that he had taken plastic stick on stainless looking molding and cut it to fit Big Olds. Holy smokes, looked GREAT!

In all these months, the Detroit Autorama, a concourse event, all the GG, NSRA and local shows and cruise nights, not one person has noticed the "fake" trim....or they never mentioned it to me. The complete beltline trim on the car right now is this plastic stuff. Now that I have the last piece I needed the trim can all be changed out to the real stainless stuff.

Mike let out one of my secrets....I let out one of his.:D:p:D

I ran around till this past Feb with the holes showing, stuck on teh above mentioned plastic stuff basicly for the Detroit Autorama but since it looked so real I just left it on.

Looked just as good (real) in person as it does in the photos

I have been invited to a concourse event in Ohio that same weekend so I won't be at Kzoo this year. First time missing it in about 15 years.

No way, there is so many other things to do first. I just got new seatbelts that HAVE to go in and Megan would KILL me if I didn't instal the CD player for the trip. I also need to repack the front wheelbearings and take care of a couple of rattles that I've been putting off finding.....lots to do and I'm running outta time. I haven't forgotten about lunch just realbusy at work cuz we launched a new product. I'll call ya soon though, I promise.

Not sure if a ring would have made me this happy:D

No, I really don't think so. I like hunting through swap meets and stuff BUT I don't live for it like some folks. I go to socialize mainly:D

Rusty Olds has his original '47 trim on him which is narrower and has a rib in it compared to the '48 CHEVY trim that this piece is, very smooth and about 1/4 of an inch wider. I really wanted the smooth trim for Big Olds.

Since the owner of the piece is not a HAMB guy he has no clue about the cookies.......he soon will though.:D

I haven't really decided for sure yet BUT I have decided it's not going to be Rusty Olds. I have really been getting into the Go-cart thing. Maybe I'll build one for World of Wheels or something. Just thoughts

    :pVery funny:p
This girl works Monday thru Friday, 8am-5pm with 15 vacation days.....I just know how to stretch them:D

I know exactly who you are referring to and that asshole can kiss my bright white ass. He was foolish thinking I was that stupid to fall for his line of crap. I hope he still has all those pieces and croaks on them. I saw him at the DesMoines GG event and didn't even give him the time of day.

But at least when I called you today crying I started off with "No one die":D

Back burner right now, got B'ville expenses coming up.

It will probably be the last page in the build scrapbook:D

Mike didn't give all the details in his little crying story from a couple of years ago. The reason I was so upset was I was expecting my guage pod and tail light bezels along with a few other things. It was exactly one week from the Jalopy Showdown and if I didn't get these parts Big Olds was staying home. Well when I opened the boxes and it was all these Caddy pieces I knew exactly what had happened, Advanced Plating had plating the wrong order first. This was on a Friday, I called Steve Tracy on Monday morning, of course I couldn't help but cry, he said not to worry, his guys would do my pieces right then and there and he'd send them out next day. I got them in time and was able to get everything installed and made it to the JS.:D

Believe it or not there is not one piece missing on Rusty Olds.....well there wasn't till just this week when I took off the visor brackets for Big Olds:D
