The Willys is back at Neil Averill's shop getting some massaging and paint prep....also Race car builder legend LeRoy Sabotini is checking out the Willys progress and is very pleased..

This race car will be looked over by a huge amound of Fresno history racers....Fred Teixeira was so respected at his time of championship, he was like a rock star of drag Racing.

Forming some more frontend brackets...the shirt I am wearing is a remake of the Eddie's Speed Shop logo that Fred bought speed parts from in the 60's.

These will mount to the tip of the frame horns and tie into the fiberglass front end for support...they are also fully adjustable.

Man, glad I caught this thread. Like others, I missed it before some how.

This car is going to kick ass no matter what paint scheme you do, but I sort of vote for the '68 scheme again - not that that means anything of course.

I love the work on the Willy's Skip! It must be quite an experience to be not only working on this car, but to be able to meet the guys that owned and worked on it in its heyday.

    Keep up the great work!

Great stuff.....You can really see how simple minded the engineering was at that time...not too much really over built, but done just enough to do the job...Its been great to see this one and Kiwi Kevs take shape................Way better than most of the plastic ones going together these days ....built with no respect!............Littleman

This thread is kick ass, i am glad i caught it before it got away. All your fab work is clean, and thought out. That hot rod stuff is right up your alley. It would have been a shame for that car to have ended up any other way. There are plenty of cars out covered with billet, no need for another.
