Art & Inspiration *** ART CHALLENGE 10! Car Toon the HAMB!***

fantastic stuff so far, this ones gonna be big, we still have time to go and i'm lookin foward to seeing more. I will be checkin in later before the deadline.
apparently a lot of hotrodders have bulging eyes and big sharp teeth, my eyes are bulging lookin at all the great art.

 

thinkin i might go burn my pencils after seein this... damn there's some good shit here...

 

OK, I came here looking for CARtoons There's lots of great art posted, but only a few qualify as cartoons .. Lets see some humor as well as some art!
The car/skateboard ramp is a great CARtoon!
Yeah, I know......... Bitch bitch bitch.....

Hey Ratster you need to post some of that Old school stuff you did in High school...lol...get ahold af radical56 if you need copies(mine are in storage and have no idea what box) of the 56 you drew.lol Still like this one.

 

Here's my .02¢... it's based on the Bad News pickup and my favorite old-time monster. I took some liberties with the front since I only had a sideview photo to work off, but you get the idea.

Great stuff guys...Zombie your artwork is tight! As usual, Norwell, you blow me out of the water.... Keep it coming guys, this is an awesome challenge.

A lot of talented guys out there but Norwell and Zombie are obviously not from around here (deals with the Devil?) and we all know Von Franco and Weesner are a cut above the rest too...pretty cool to be able to hang out in cyberspace with all this talent

I've got something in the works but I move pretty slow and don't know if I'll make the deadline.

So it looks like for prizes we again have some very generous hambers..

third prize: a hamber has offered up something cool, I'm just waiting for confirmation.

There are still a few days left! I also should say, I'm going to try to be pretty strict on the "art made especially for this contest rule".

I was not a big fan of this type of hotrod art, but you guys have really recaptured the era with way more creativity ,the detail is awesome !

I don't know if I completely captured the CARtoons look but I imagined this as the centerfold poster and as an outsider artist's contribution to the magazine. It's a slightly more contemporary take on the theme. I'd have pushed the theme even further if I'd had more free time.





Here's the little number (the car fellas) I got off the HAMB for inspiration:





...This is the car I'd originally sketched in the comp but, as i began to color it, I realized I was making it up and not actually using a car from the forum corral.
