History Why does every Willys have to be a gasser or street rod?

I have nothing against gassers, but why does every(well almost) Willys show up as a gasser or street rod? Where there no Willys hot rods or customs back in the day? I'd love to see a '40 Willys custom scraping pebbles of the road....

Apparently I'm not the only one who wants to see a chopped 3W '40 Willys with teardrop skirts and all of it's original trim on it.

I think it'd look great. I saw a picture of a restored stock one once, but all others have been nose high gassers or easter egg pro-street cars.

Probably has a lot to do with the extremely high price of steel bodies.

On the other hand, I've never seen a '49 Merc gasser come to think of it.

Because they look bad ass with the nose in the air. Same as seeing Mercurys...they are big bodied bastards and beg to scrape the ground. Pretty rare to see a gasser Merc, or a Model A taildragger! Although I have seen some bitchin Willys customs, I prefer them to go fast, or atleast look as if they do.

  7. Willys custom? WILLYS CUSTOM?! That idea just made me sicker than Two Girls One Cup!

I saw a stone stock one two years ago, NOT a handson car, you would be making a bad investment restoring one.

I dunno, I like nose-high gasser Willys' as much as the next guy, but I'd have to say this car pretty much kicks ass.

Someone over here runs a Kustom '41 Willys. Runs flipper caps, really low and Briz bumpers. Looks pretty smart and it's a refreshing change. I don't even think it runs an 8 either.

This has to be the one your talking about..
It's VERY nice, and even though my personal preference is that of the gasser style, you can't deny this car it's due credit..
