It's Sunday night, What did you get done??

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Tugmaster, Aug 17, 2008.

  1. I went to the Bob Dylan concert Friday night. Had to work Saturday morning (AGAIN). Sat afternoon and today I worked on flush mounting my headlights. I'm almost done. I'll post dome pics soon. Todd

Mounted Steering box and column on my 40 chevy truck. Also added a lowering block to the back. I have 7 month old twins so this is a good day for me.

  4. Cool, little neighborhood Car Club's swap meet yesterday morning. Small car show down the street after that, BBQ, then whiskey. Today, woman's volleyball at the Olympics(the Brazilian chicks ROCK), Starlite's open house, some of the best Pizza after that for dinner, and more whiskey/women's volleyball

  5. Chopped down and mounted my steering column, made a couple of br*** bushings, sat in it and made car noises.

Pulled the windshield out of the '38 and installed the correct rubber after drivin it that way for two years. Templated the new gl*** and dropped it off to be cut. In the interum it's just too nice outside to let the roadster sit for two days so I stuff half of the windshield, (the half with the inspection sticker on), which happens to be about an inch too small in the new rubber. It made it through the weekend. Just have to get the roadster ready for MaCungie, Wheels of Time, this weekend. Also put a new screen door on the kitchen, gives me points for being lost all next weekend.

Got the "**** ugly", home-grown, s****-pieces English wheel about finished and a good start on the plannishing hammer attachments for it.
Introduced a local car builder to the HAMB and shot the breeze for a while. Learned some stuff and showed him some stuff. (tool building mainly)
Changed out a regular for a sliding rear window in my brother's truck and also did one in his father-in-laws truck. Took 20 minutes each one. Local shop wanted $150 to do one! Sheesh!
Fixed the exhaust on my daily.
Went for a ride, ate out. :)
Oh.. Lifted a gl*** or two in prep for my birthday tomorrow.
Gee, I'm tired. I need to go back to work to get some rest.
Slag.. you look like ****, man. ;) Hope you are doing better than the pic shows!
Ice man.. I like the way you just toss at the end: "and I got a 29 Hot Rod Pk Up" like it's nothing. ;)

pulled all the brakes off my 61 Dodge only to find out that brake shoes are not available at any of the local parts places. got a junk drum on the back and that is not available either.

went to the Turlock Swap meet which had a dismal turnout. I'd say 50% of the spots were empty.... basically I drove an hour and a half each way so I could take my Radio Flyer wagon for a stroll. bought nothing.

Four new ball joints in the '96 Ford E-350!!!!!!!!! Can't get to Hershey in October without all four wheels attached. Easy job when you have the right people AND tools helping you.

gee slag, rough stuff. Glad you are on the mend.
I don't have an accident as an excuse... I'm just falling apart and breaking down with age. Maybe someone will restore or hotrod me.

    Happy B'day early, man!

Made a gas pedal from old Chevy pieces with a Ford spring loaded pedal. Ran some gauge wires.

  25. My son (He's the one in the side picture), my wife, and I just returned from 3 days on the coast of Maine at Long Sands in York.
    The weather was great.
It rained only one night and that was only for a couple of hours.
We had front row seats at the motel overlooking the beach.
The lightning storm was awesome. The Surf was the best ever!
We surfed every day from 7:30 A.M. 'till about 5:00 P.M.
Pete is very good, my wife and I definitly need some lessons.
My knees are ****** and s****ed, my skin is seriously burned, my innards are full of some odd sea flotsum, and the other two in the family are sleeping like babies now.
It's 9:30 P.M. now and it's time to hit the garage and work on the roadster's rear coilovers and the Lincoln's new fenderskirts.
    Yes..............it was an excellent weekend!

I didn't get to touch the car. due to this ***** named Fay. This is our first hurricane season so of course we put everything off until the last minute so now we are scrambling to get every thing done in time.

I lost all my power steering fluid in about 15 seconds while jetting down Northwest Highway in Dallas. Almost ditched it. WTF was that all about?

Installed the rear jet plate kit on the Comets Holley so I can adjust it with the screw in jets. Installed Lokar throttle cable (sorry for the billit content) to get rid of the **** that was on the car. I hated the foot shaped gas pedal so I replaced it with a s**** shaped pedal much nicer to drive now!
The hood came up on the p***enger side Saturday and I had to repair the pin mount the PO had mounted poorly, then I checked under the car to see if all was OK (seemed squirely at the track) and found the driver side subframe connector welds broke loose at the rear so I'll have to get some welding and reinforcing done.
