and a pic from Concours Italiano...

Looks like the So Cal roadster[IMG]

Likely the most important custom ever, the Buick Y Job.

1959 Indy Roadster. Owner said it was a handfull at 150 mph and he couldnt imagine driving it faster, although they did back in the day.

    Woodies !!!

A LaSalle woody? Who knew. Ordered new by the widow of one of the Dodge Bros. and used at the Meadowbrook estate outside Detroit.

If LaSalle had a woody, it stands to reason the Caddy had one also.

While we are talking Caddy, here is a 1961 Cadillac Pininfarina Brougham. Custom bodywork by Pininfarina.

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry I missed it this year.

    A couple of questions;

Did you get shots of Shirley's Alfa?

Did you make it to Laguna Seca?

    Thank you.

How would one go about finding out what year each dream car was built? Would be pretty interesting to know how far ahead of production some ideas were tried out.

Unfortunately I didnt do either. I was taking pics for a publication, so I concentrated on traditional styling at Pebble

Didnt go to Laguna, I took Saturday "off" and relaxed. Had an event to go to Sat. night so I rested up.

A Caddy V16 ch***is. This is how you would get it from Caddy and then take it to your coachbuilder. A true custom. Order up the basis of your car, then have the body commissioned.

The current owners drove this on the Pebble Beach Tour, about 60 miles up and down some pretty twisty roads. They had a blast.

    Look at the distributor!!!

    Wow, thanks for the pics!

That Rolls Royce special is something else. Sorta the great-great-grandfather of Papagallo's vehicle from "Road Warrior".

Never saw the Lasabre with a top on it before - sure does look strange.

Sure would be great to see that stuff in-person. Really got to make it out there some year.

    Thanks for the pics

  27. Every year, when this show rolls around, I kick myself for living on the wrong coast. Wonderful photos. Can't remember seeing the Y-Job with the top up. So much work to build the Rolls Royce engined monster, and really it's very awkward looking.
Thanks for getting up early and posting. This old guy in GA appreciates it.
